Expectations is a romantic comedy-drama about a woman who prays for a husband and receives more than one unexpected answer.
When Michael Greer barges into Daria Simpson's home to avoid a belligerent ex-girlfriend, Daria is not impressed. Then Michael renews his relationship with Christ and begins attending her church. Suddenly, the atmosphere becomes electric, and despite her best intentions, Daria can't get her mind off that man. Soon they're having monster alerts that have nothing to do with ogres or dragons. Hilarious encounters, eccentric aunties, and a persistent ex-girlfriend give them plenty of action, but nothing prepares them for the arrival of a secret baby who reveals an awful secret. Will Michael walk away and fulfill Daria's fearful expectations, or will their attraction mature into a godly love that lasts a lifetime?
The novel takes you on a roller coaster ride of laughter, drama, self-discovery, spiritual renewal, and love.

FROM THE PUBLISHER
"I have created a collection of steamy erotic short stories that are mind blowing... Calling them "Hot Flashes", and they are nothing like you have read before. So allow your mind and body to travel exploring the wildest fantasies. You never know where the sexual liaisons will take place but believe there is always a climax. For instance "Mykas Mystical Adventures" the 30 yrs old virgin coming into her sexual awakening at a club going buck wild, exploring the pleasures of the flesh. With Keenan, who has been celibate for a few years, now turning her out with his sensual tongaligus skills. Nothing is left to the imagination, for my words are raw and sizzling for adults only."
- Nia Nandi aka NiaRotica
"A motorcycle has to be the largest vibrator a woman can stand."
As if by fate, she stopped at the traffic light. Located at the corner or 21st and Susquehanna Avenue, riding her sleek motorcycle. You know the popular ones now, straight out of Byker Times and Source magazines. We still are not sure, if the bike was riding the beautiful thickalicious Mami or were her thighs, riding the hell out of that bike. Screamin come and get it! Stace chimes in "Yeah she looked like she was mixed with something exotic looking, maybe Afro-Dominican".
It was truly a sight to behold; amazing the affect a woman can have on a man. Just her mere presence can send them beyond consciousness. The Vixen pulled what I call a "Hot Flash" (a moment of intense sexual perceptiveness. a Poof!). Men on pause, nothing else mattered at the time.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Nia Nandi aka NiaRotica is audaciously writing her way to the top of the list, with other great erotic writers. She is taking 2006 by volcanic storm, spewing her lava words. There is a new kind of "Hot Flashes" (no the ones you're thinking - yes erotic stories) are oozing with sensuality and rawness. There is no mistaking the power of the sexual healing energy. Reading her words will more than excite you...
So ladies and gentlemen, bring your fans and towels because it's time to unleash all inhibitions!

FROM WHENCE WE COME © 2004 Nandi Adia Nkosi
ALL THAT IS was all there was and ALL THAT IS was everything
Universal Love Light and Life- the electromagnetic ring
It conceptually knew itself as intelligent love energy
But yearned to know itself experientially and free
To do this it created the realm of relativity
This is how you and I came to be
It divided itself into millions of pieces and created a third dimension
Holograms sent to forget, then re-member that our purpose is ascension
A hologram contains all parts of the whole
We are the Most High creating; this wisdom is embedded in our soul
This 3rd dimension we call Earth is an illusion
We are convinced that it is real, we suffer from delusion
All things are in divine order, our delusion is by design
Its purpose is to confuse us and then remind
Us of our God-self and bring it forth in the Earth
Our Divine Purpose began with our first breath at birth
We are God choosing to know itself through experience
To master the mission we must have a high vibration consciousness
This dimension is governed by the 666 beast
Our challenge is to overcome the beast with pure love and peace
The beauty in the mission is we can not fail
God is love and love is absolute it always prevails
We have infinite lifetimes to ascend to the light
The holy, healing, heavenly bright white
That composes the 360 degrees of a cipher
All creation is born from the eternal fire
Thought, word action is the creation trinity
Used consciously, I create dominion over me
Dominion over flesh is a necessary blessing
Alleviating discord is the other tough lesson
The final third of the trinity, is focus on God’s love energy
Mission complete, the ascended master will come to greet
You and pull you up behind the veil into the city of lights
To the holiest of holies, to the HIGHEST HEIGHT

The starving artist cliche doesn't hold true at Artmosphere Digital Cafe 3311 Rhode Island Ave., Mount Rainier, 301-927-2233, www.artmospherecafe.com. Our eatery promises pastas, wraps, salads and more (about $6-$8) to tame your growling stomach and an atmosphere to feed your hungry muse. Owned by husband-and-wife team Dyrell Madison and Andaiye Scott-Madison. When we are not behind the counter, both are artists: Dyrell paints and plays drums for the Proverbs reggae band and Devine Nature, neo-soul while Andaiye is a painter, choreographer and singer who performs traditional African music and jazz. They live in the Mount Rainier Artist Lofts, a 44-unit dwelling for creative types. Sure, the "for artists, by artists" concept may feel overwrought -- how many painters, sculptors and musicians do you know who subsist on imported teas and veggie wraps, rather than ramen noodles? But the independent film screenings, live music, poetry and free Wi-Fi more than make up for it.

When Jade Simmons’ lack of luck leaves her struggling on the side of the road, Xavier Mann comes to her rescue. She feels an instant attraction to him the minute they make eye contact. Jade never intended on falling in love with this knight in shining armor, but as fate would have it…
Xavier is everything that she has looked for in a man: handsome, successful, compassionate and committed only to her.
When Xavier’s ex returns with her own agenda, Jade quickly discovers just how much misery loves company. Incident after incident requires Jade to trust in Xavier, which she does without hesitation. But when she is put in a situation that requires Xavier to trust in her, she realizes that she may be the only trusting one in the relationship and that love may not be enough to bring them back to where they were.
Excerpt:
After about ten minutes of scanning the cram-packed room, Jade spotted Sheila. She motioned for her to come there.
“What’s up, girl?” Sheila asked half out of breath.
“Are you ready yet? I agreed to stay here one hour. We have been here two hours longer than planned. A pimp and a midget have hit me on. I’ve been pushed, pulled, and damn near knocked down.”
“OK, OK, let me just find that little cutie I was dancing with and give him my number.”
“Girl, come on here.” Jade pulled her by the arm. “You are old enough to be his mother.”
They fought their way through the club and out the door. The smell of cigarette smoke, alcohol and body odor nearly singed Jade’s nose hairs. Finally, fresh air, she thought. She took a few deep breaths.
The traffic outside the club was bumper to bumper with people trying to find a parking space.
“It is going on one o’clock and people are still trying to get in here,” Sheila commented. “This really is the new hot spot,” quoting what she had heard the local DJ say on the radio.
“Well, I will happily give up my space and with pleasure.”
Jade tried to maneuver out of the tight spot she had parked in. She shifted to reverse, to drive and back to reverse again. She was finally able to pull safely out of the space, but backed into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Beeeeeeeep…The driver laid on the horn. Jade threw up her hand in a gesture to say I’m sorry but she was temporarily paralyzed by what she saw. It was Xavier, with a woman in the passenger’s seat. The headlights reflecting off of her vehicle illuminated the inside of Xavier’s. Even without a clear view of his face, Jade would have known it was Xavier’s SUV because of the NCCU plate in the front.
Jade felt sick to her stomach. She could not believe what she was seeing.
“Isn’t that?” Sheila paused after catching a glimpse of the woman in the passenger’s seat.
Jade showed little emotion; she just put her car in drive and sped off.
Xavier slammed on his brakes and blew the horn. He switched on his high beams. He knew instantly it was Jade in the car in front of him.
“Jade.”
Xavier wasn’t sure what action to take so he sat gripping the steering wheel and staring into her vehicle. He watched Jade staring back at him. He reached for the door handle to get out and explain everything to her. He knew how this must have looked but he knew once he explained it to her she would understand everything.
Xavier only got as far as to touching the handle before Jade was gone.

Just wanted to share probably the most important Myspace / YouTube marketing tactic that’s been phenomenal for generating leads and sales for me. I found out the hard (time consuming) way what all the successful people are doing to get boatloads of leads and sales from MySpace and YouTube.
There's a new and inexpensive automated friend adder, messenger, and commenter called Stealth Friend Bomber. It’s actually 2 tools in 1 since it works for both MySpace and YouTube. It allows you to do hours of work in a few minutes… no joke!
My intention is to help all involved with their own business by sending out this public service for anyone having trouble with leads, since many people helped me out on this forum when I first started. The website is below and they also have a free demo and tutorial to see how it works.

Anyone interested in good photography?
I work with many of Central GA’s models, recording artists and labels. I also work with solo guitarists and bands. I can help you with the entire design of your album cover and graphics for the inserts. Do not hesitate to ask about this even if your budget is low. We help you with everything, from the concept to art direction to individual styling (what helps work for you in particular) and give you tips to ensure that in the future you grow as a talent.
Due to my experience, I have learned to shoot fashion in evolving settings (fashion/hair shows, on location photoshoots, etc.). Remember you DO NOT have to be a model to enjoy amazing pictures. I work with all types of people, moms, girlfriends, teenagers, couples, musicians, aspiring actors, models as well as established clients. I will help you with your needs and make sure your shoot is a relaxed and memorable experience. Shooting with me puts you one step ahead of many. As I am currently working very closely to build my own while networking with many of the magazines. I also work with managers, music video, and casting directors. Don't sleep on this because hey, you only live once so do it and do it in style.
I am not here to sell you on any GIMMICKS, or am I here to rip you off, I went through that when I was first starting out! I will only advise you on what the true reality is of your photography venture. Regardless of shape or size I can help you achieve what you need. My photography is something you can be proud to show. After shooting with me, many of my clients have been booked in fashion shows, modeling competitions, ads in magazines, etc...
I enjoy shooting all walks of life, I specialize in turning a housewife into a super model and unique family portraits. Some of our clients may inquire/require Photo Packages, and we can handle that also, but know that with me it's about enjoying the B.E.S. EXPERIENCE! or you in

“Art imitates life imitates art”. This is the philosophy that inspires me as I conceptualize my next painting. I am inspired by my community, my culture, and people that I admire. While life experiences serve as inspiration, my style, technique, and skill are a result of natural talent, university-level training, and spiritual revelations. A former professor would comment that I have the ability to capture the spirit of a posing subject. I attribute this to a willingness to go beneath the surface level to learn about my subject. Focusing on the “why” instead of the “what” is, in my opinion, the shortcut to harmony, understanding, and brotherhood.
It was around middle school when I discovered a passion for creating art. After graduating from high school, I went on to study Art Management and Art History at Howard University. My style flows from abstract, through surrealism, and into realism. I do not believe in limiting nor categorizing who I am and what I do as an artist. My influences are the variety of communities I have lived in -New York, Michigan, D.C. My work is a melting pot of Midwestern, Southern and East Coast experiences. Growing up as a daughter of a seamstress, I am often inclined to mimic the appearance of fabric in my work through patterning, folding and dimension. I also incorporate symbolism in most of my work. I often use West African Adinkra symbols, but sometimes I will develop my own symbols.
2007 has brought an overwhelming desire to paint and I am currently working on a "7 painting in 7 weeks” painting challenge. Among other things, this challenge represents a personal transformation and commitment toward putting my vision for my art career into action.

Hello Family,
My name is Chereese aka Daboetry and I'm so excited to be here. I listen to the Michael Baisden Show everyday at work to help me get through my day. It's entertainment in its rarest form and very informative. I applaud and deeply respect Mr. Baisden for trying to make a difference in our community through radio and not just sitting back and turning a blind eye just to be popular with the masses and getting paid.
I'm so glad and proud that so many people (movers and shakers included) are stepping up with the injustice of the Jena 6 situation down in LA. I wish that I could go but you best bet that I'll be wearing my black on the 20th.
Now, for my shameless plug...lol
I've been writing poetry for the past four years. I've published a collection of poetry recently and its titled, The Chronicles of Daboetry. The subjects vary from Religious, Love, Sensual to Dark and Horror. An infinite of elements inspire me to write. It could be a song, life experience, a person, a book etc. I write to try and make a positive difference in peoples lives because life is filled with so many hardships. I'd like my words to shed just a bit of light within the darkness.
If you're interested in checking out my book, here's the link

Not many people who listen to the Michael Baisden Show are starting their own TV network, but we are!
It's called Indie Dish. It will be a forum for independent artists of all types, (music, films, tv) and also screenwriters, producers, directors, animators etc. to showcase their various talents and increase their exposure. We're taking the concept of an MTV, BET, VH1, HBO, etc, and bringing it to the local level, and it is all black owned and operated. We are presently seeking high quality video content from all independent artists. If they do not have it and want it, we can produce it for them!
We are also giving small local advertisers a chance to be on TV that may have been out of their reach in the past, while simultaneously reaching an audience that they may not have been able to reach before.
We'll be debuting in the Atlanta area, on Comcast channel 150 in early October (set for this Saturday, October 6, 8pm) where we will be available to approximately 500,000 Comcast subscribers in the metro Atlanta area, with plans to expand to every major market in the country, and eventually offering a package of several original channels.
Check us out on the web, at www.indiedish.com

Sweetgrass Baskets: One of America's oldest craft art forms of African origin
Our African ancestors were stripped of their clothing, language, foods and more. But in their hearts and minds were lessons from their homeland. One of them was basketry. African slaves working on lowcountry plantations particularly in South Carolina, used local materials to replicate baskets they used in Africa. Today, my family and I carry on this tradition which has been passed down many generations. My 82-year-old grandmother still makes and sells her baskets, too.

GREETINGS, HOTEP, A-SALAAM-ALAKUM, SHALOM, JAMBO, WHADDUP ?
I am TONY B. CONSCIOUS... THE GHETTO VAN-GO.... some call me a "spoken word activist", the "modern day PAUL ROBESON", "NAT TURNER on a canvas", a "Rennaisance Man", and even "THE LAST MAN STANDING WITH A SPRAY PAINT CAN". I prefer to be called " An urban GRIOT..." and an "INNER-CITY SHAMAN".
I have been doing spoken word poetry since 86', way before it became popular (pre-DEF POETRY SLAM). Alot of people know me for selling laminated poems @ THE MILLION MAN MARCH, and in ATLANTA all through the 90's on the Marta, at the AUC (FASHION FRIDAYS @ SPELLMAN), at THE SOUL SOURCE BOOKSTORE on the campus of CLARK ATLANTA and in front of the student center on Thursdays !!!
I recorded one of the most interesting spoken word c.d's called "unplugged"
which can be purchased or heard @ www.cdbaby.com/cd/conscious2
I moved back to L.A. in 2003' and then started doing...visual art on Venice Beach !!!
I started by experimenting with spray paint and stencils...and developed a style...uncomparible to any !!!
It kinda looked like "TIE DYE", but it had an "airbrush" feel....
So I came up with the concept of "FLY DYE"...
Due to my EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SOPHISTICATION AND CONSCIOUSNESS... I instantly became the #1 artist on VENICE BEACH, hands down !!!
You can check my art out at... www.myspace.com/flydye
So, not only am I doing spoken word pieces, creating c.d.'s, books and greeting cards with my poetry on them....
I am now doing VISUAL ART that ends up on bags, T-Shirts, canvas and in frames...
HOWEVER, Venice Beach has become a VERY racist place for intelligent ARTISTIC, african-americans.... They are systematically trying to get rid of us and we are rarely supported nowadays !!!
I am finishing up a book and c.d. called "A PICTURE'S WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS..." which has my Art, Poetry and music all intertwined !!!
I feel I am part of a dying breed of "OLD SCHOOL HIP HOPPAS" who care about their culture enough to create strictly for my peoples...
I WOULD LOVE TO DO ART SHOWS/ FEATURES in each and every city and I AM DESPERATELY TRYING TO MOVE BACK TO ATLANTA !!!
Your support is much needed and will be highly appreciated !!!

Price: $10.95
ISBN: 1897261160
Book Description
Ain't That a Mess: A Diary Among Friends is about four young, African American women who all share a unique relationship with a wise old woman. It chronicles various moments of their lives from childhood through adulthood, focusing on the trials and tribulations they each experience individually, with each other, and with their significant others. The book begins with Moma Bessie, an old, uneducated, but very wise African American matriarch, sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair reflecting on various parts of her life. Her husband is no longer with her and she misses him terribly. Since his death, the void in her life has been filled by taking care of her granddaughter, Katrina, and Katrina's three best friends Monique, Donna and Chandra. She reflects on the wisdom she has imparted from their childhood through their adult lives, and she hopes that the wisdom will stay with them even after she has gone on to join her husband. The four women and their significant others all learn lessons about love, life and faith through Moma Bessie's wisdom and ultimately become much wiser than their years.

About the book
The Lezory Files (version 2)
Is a story of tragedy, love, lust and lesbianism. This story focus's on the true story of two African American lesbians. As quoted by Safari Ann Jones "Our story is one that needed to be told because the story of the African American lesbian/choosbian tends to be overlooked and ignored as if we don’t matter and we don’t exist." "I wanted to share my story to touch the hearts of many and let the world know that African American lesbians have a voice and a story that has been left untold." "I wanted to speak for those African American lesbians who can’t speak for themselves and finally tell our story by using my life as a map and a reflection of what needs to change in the lesbian community." "Many of us still need to learn how to be role models and examples to our gay youth that are watching us and following in our footsteps." "This book is a wake up call for the lesbian community to wake up and start loving one another and ourselves. The story begins in childhood and transcends into the adulthood of Safari Ann Jones and Rose Sutra.

Lezory File Reader Reviews :
Great Job Ladies!!! Rated by Guest - 7/27/2007
It was was an interestedly clever way to address the serious issue of being a Black American Lesbian. It reminded me of Ralf Ellison's concept of the "Invisible Man." Except in todays society its the Black womans turn to feel disregarded. This book also had an universal approach in the sense that the problems that Black Lesbians go through in relationships and with their self esteem is world wide. Good Job Ladies. U make me proud to be a Gay American.

SIMPLE COMPLEXITY (http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Complexity-Keanna-N-Houston/dp/0615139663/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196306740&sr=8-1) is a unique compilation of poems reflecting Houston’s thoughts on love, self-esteem, social commentary and other topics about life. With over 80 selections, there is something for everyone to savor. The poems are broken into chapters by years, and as the years progress, the more the poet’s talent is evident.
I was enamored with several of the poems included in this tiny book. “Dear Love” is a powerful prayer to God about feeling abandoned and needing to find the love He promises. “Simple Complexity” is another strong poem with an emphasis on how the narrator is a simple person with complicated emotions. These are by no means all the poems I liked, there were several that struck a cord of relevance and emotional thought within me.
SIMPLE COMPLEXITY (http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Complexity-Keanna-N-Houston/dp/0615139663/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196306740&sr=8-1) is not as simple as the title may conjure, but its focus deals much more with love and its affect on Houston and there were a lot of poems where self-esteem seemed lost and in dire need of being found. Some of the poems have a rhyming scheme others are more rhythmic. This collection is meant to be read at a steady, but slow pace. Houston has something for poetry lovers to enjoy and think about long after they have finished the last poem.

Questions:
-Should a person's outward appearance matter when it comes to finding someone who has your best interest in heart?
-Are people so superficial that they rule out a man or a woman strictly because their size?
-How big is too big to Love?
-Are we, guided by a social order seeking the approval from the others just to fit in?
- You will find answers to these question and a few other surprises between the pages of "We Just Have More to Love."
Summary:
China Symone Peoples is a full-figured female living in Washington D.C., who struggles daily seeking to be judged for her character and not her size. In a world where thin is supposed to be in, she has to fight day in and day out for the same respect that is yielded to women of a smaller size.
She also has been in love with her best friend Nehemiah from the first day they met. Fearful of rejection and damaging their friendship she represses her feeling for him, fully aware of the fact that he likes slender and petite women.
China realizes that she may have to abandon her affection for Nee and move on. She has to be content with just having him as her friend, until he commits the most unthinkable act.

Hello MingleCity Family
My name is Tisha DeShields and I started Original Belly Works three years ago. The idea came to me while I was pregnant with my fourth child. I wanted to create a lasting heirloom that could be past down through the generations. And in so doing, I found a way to protect the plaster casting by fiber glassing it which also provides a smooth canvas to decorate. Original Belly Works is the ONLY source to provide this service for their clients. I want people today to step 'Out of the Box' and see that art is about breaking down barriers. It gets people to feel, to think and to react. So when you come across life size pregnant belly sculptures that have been covered in denim, jellybeans, rhinestones, bellies that have been painted with elaborate themes or transformed into something else entirely, you can’t help but stop and think about what it all means. All your preconceived ideas go out the window. Suddenly people see that art can be fun and art can be functional and interesting to everyone, not just people who frequent museums.
What is an Original Belly Works Sculpture?
An Original Belly Works’ Keepsake Is Meant to Be Uniquely Yours
A gift for Mom and a keepsake for Baby, an Original Belly Work’s sculpture is a beautiful, lasting impression of the pregnant woman’s torso. With paint, fabric, flowers of other enhancements of choice, the final work presents a wonderful, whimsical piece of art and an expressive symbol of love and hope. Available for adoptive parents and moms who have given birth, our superior quality, preformed figures are ready for your personal touch.
What’s in an OBW Belly Cast Kit?
Each kit contains all materials needed to craft a plaster cast of Mom-to-Be’s belly. Receive step-by-step instructions, 5 rolls of premium casting material, vaseline, rubber gloves, a drop cloth and a bucket.
The Finishing Touch….
….is an OBW fiberglass Finish. As the only source to extend this option; using your plaster belly cast, OBW will cast a smooth finish fiberglass belly ready to decorate. This weather resistant material prevents mold, chipping, breaking, and cracking. The lightweight sculpture also mounts easily to the wall. Plaster kits contain ordering instructions.

Hello All,
My new book Love Won't Let Me Wait is a collection of five stories and novellas dealing with relationships and the trials we go through dealing with the people we love:
One on One:
They say you can’t go home again, and Marcus Brooks didn’t want to. But when he goes back to close the door on his past and to escape the pain of betrayal by the woman he loved, Marcus learns that for every door in life that closes, a new one opens. And for every love lost, the potential for new love is found.
The Cousin:
Devon Graham misses his wife Sheila. He misses her kiss. He misses her touch. He misses the love they used to share. And when Sheila’s beautiful cousin Ellie arrives to live with them, Devon’s frustration and desire are pushed to the limit. Now he has to learn the reasons for the coldness in his marriage before he gives in to the heat of a new temptation.
The Plan:
Aaron plans out everything in his life, from owning his own store before he turned thirty to hiring Jeanette, his beautiful new secretary. Jeanette is the object of every man’s desire, but Aaron has no intention of being unfaithful to his wife. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a plan.
Breaking Point:
Everyone has a breaking point. For Bryan, it began with the failure of his marriage. But that heartbreaking loss was only the beginning of his troubles. Now someone wants Bryan dead. Now he must learn if the threat to his life is related to his new love, or to something darkness yet to be discovered – a darkness that will push him to the brink of his breaking point.
The Group:
It began as a beautiful Saturday morning for five lifelong girlfriends. But a treacherous betrayal by one of them opens the door to secrets long hidden – secrets that not only might ruin the friendship of the group – it might destroy their lives.
My next novel, A Southern Belle, will be available soon. Later this year I'm releasing three novels in The Insatiable Series. Yes, the tales in that series will be as hot as the title!
In 2009 look for professional killers Duncan Gray and his ex-lover and current enemy Nikira Horikoshi to give you sleepless nights in The Hitman Chronicles.

Gregory Reid, http://www.gregorylreid.com, grew up in Oyster Bay, Long Island where he attended Oyster Bay High School. From the time he was a boy drawing pictures with his older siblings, art has been a major force in his life.
He enrolled at the New School in New York City to study illustration. Finding the school atmosphere too restrictive, he left to pursue his career independently. He soon began experimenting with painting, choosing oils as his principle medium.
Gregory considers himself a Visionary Artist, whose work is influenced by Chagall, Picasso, Jacob Lawrence, DeKooning, Dali, Joan Miro and Jasper Johns. His involvement with the study of mythology gives him the understanding of an artists role as myth-maker in today's world.
Gregory likens the visionary's role to that of the Shaman in older societies. The Shaman's sharper perceptions of reality turn him inward. As a Visionary Artist, Gregory's work expresses the emotions and soul of the artist. These internal landscapes or mindscapes have the capacity to evoke strong emotions in the people who view his work.
Check him out! He is one of the deepest brothers I know!!

My name is Alycia J. Gonzalez, artist and designer. My portfolio for art school consisted primarily of paintings (oils), but I majored in fashion design, switched to textile design and finally decided to major in art history and take advantage of all of the studio course offerings of my school. It has paid off tremendously. Please visit my website www.agonzalezdesigns.com and view some of my current artwork. My body of work is diverse: ceramics, textiles, jewelry, painting and drawing. I also make custom handbags and the level of customization is up to you: I can spin and dye the fibers and weave the fabric, design complete a custom embroidery and add sequins as well, or you can pick a commercial fabric and I can design the bag from there and make the patterns. I do not use commercial patterns for my work- I create my own. My files are too large for upload so please visit my website www.agonzalezdesigns.com and we can work together on your custom jewelry, handbag (or other textile) and you can also view some of my current fine art work.

Gena-Side
The year is nineteen..sixty-six, we
had to run hard from those burning stix,
now here we are, Two thousand six,
and still we have fight for Jena’s Six?
They pushed us hard…up against the
wall, then tell us all to try it and
fall, Cut so bad…can’t use that
stahl, then all laugh when they see
us crawl.
Still feel like ..Mr. Big’n Tall?
It took a crew about forty years,
blood ..sweat.. and lots of tears.
Push, pull, like bulls and steers,
…while you laughed, drink’n your
tasty beer…Now we ride before big
crowds and cheers…all praising..worshiping,
Finally here?
The sign reads “BELIEVE” in B’more,
Is this true for a place called D-for?
What’s the reason we can’t help
even the score?
Where this came from …there’s
plenty more. So don’t even
think bout clos’n the door.
The game is not over til we all can
score. The bruised, the battered, those
walk’n on 4, you ask how I’m feel’n,
do I need to say more?
I will:
Alarm bells rang on that autumn day. Everyone
knelt and felt the need to pray. Is this what it takes
for us to stop and hear…the whispers of pain, from those
liv’n far and here?
Little boys run’n round with 38’s, wait a minute,
this is not Iraq or Quait? Talk about how you want
to even the score, while our boys won’t live past three
and score, and want me to sing to the King of your’s?
Try this out before you ask me for more, give me ten less
than half, a four speed… and no more. If you don’t get it, kneel down
…and pray some more.
You might like to sing, sign, rhyme, clap and tattle and scrabble,
don’t you forget, we are in the same battle.
So pick up your brotha, …the one wounded in battle,
teach him to row, how to flow, most of all to.. paddle.

The house, the cars a movie star,
certainly not these iron bars.
You put me in a box, pushed out to sea,
chained-up, banged-up, your Historee.
But you only see what you want to see,
then have the nerve to ask why you B,
so mentally deranged, even L.A.Z.
Quote’n statistics left and right, served-up
by one who is light-bright. As if to say
It must be right. Showing role models of one or
two, all connected to those who look no not
like me or you, implying this is the best you
could do. For real, Shame on you…
What about the brotha push’n UPS, all by himself
with one or two in the nest? Hard everyday he gives his best.
And that wasn’t good enough to show the rest?
Or the Sista who has her MBA, no child, no man,
doing fine, Okaaa. And she wasn’t celebrated, in the most
proper way? Only show’n those who have lost their way.
You spent how much to show this play?
To all of you who are go’n thru, do what you
must to get you too, cause everybody out-here
is watch’n you. Thousands of us have made it
through, started off even worse than you. And
you want to tell me you can’t too?
Only the Man above, can pull you through.
It’s all about the D-word, not the F-word,
the N-word or even the She-word.
Decide who you want to be ..Word!
And start thinking like those big birds.
Even He likes this big word. Didn’t he
say be hot or cold? Decide today to rebuild
and mold. It may bring you, more than wealth
or gold.
They say it’s all about the Big P.I.M.P, but if you
chase that dream, may you R.I.P. The hips, the lips and
the finger tips, be careful out there and please don’t slip.
Cuz life’s not about how many you father, nor even
about catching the most silver dollars.
It’s all about the legacy that you will leave, the good
the Bad, for all to see. Won’t be able to say
“That’s not me”.
At the end of the day, it is all about You.
Not about where you are or where you have
been. Not even if you have been with 100 or 10.
But where you’ll be in 9 or 10. And hope nobody
says what could’ve been. Are you the first
to live without sin?
So pick up your head and get out of bed,
stop walk’n round like the living dead,
and come get some of this living bread.
