Hey Family - I wanted to put my wife's business out there on her behalf. Her name is Liz Kemp and she recently opened up Island Breeze, a market and cafe that is offering a wide selection of natural and organic grocery items as well as some of the best Jamaican dishes in the Carolinas. She is located in the Baxter Village of Fort Mill, SC which is right off I-77 (exit 85). I have used her catering services several times to feed doctors' offices in the area and she has received nothing but praise from all.
I know that the real key to her success is getting the word out to our community and letting them know that she is here. Her current customers from the "area" are not acquainted with authentic Jamaican dishes so she has had to modify the menu (adding a variety of CHICKEN SALADS) to accommodate them. But as those who can appreciate a plate of curry goat, ox tail, and jerk chicken begin to make their way into Island Breeze, there will be no compromising on the menu.
If folk are looking for real Jamaican food (did I mention she's Jamaican), then stop on by. If folk are looking to support one of the few minority owned businesses in the area, then on stop by, get your eat on and maybe pick a few items off the shelf that will be good for you and your family.

High School Business Teacher Incorporates a Nonprofit Organization to Mentor and Help Families Reach Their Dreams!

Eunita established ATWINDS FOUNDATION, INC. a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2007 to foster families to become productive citizens of society. As a business teacher, founder and president her motto is “A Teacher’s Work Is Never Done Services.” She believes in helping families in and outside of the school doors. For example, she raised her former student who had to care for her twins. Her former student was alone after the sudden death of her mother. She also shares her tragic medical error story with students and parents to raise medical record awareness in hoping to save lives. Eunita educates the public on how to request their medical records, exam them for errors and their rights. She feels that people should have the same attitude about medical errors just as credit reports errors.

Eunita was instrumental in the nomination of the Chamber of Commerce 2007 Business Philanthropy Award for the hands-on relocation of a Hurricane Katrina family. She found this family by searching the internet for a family to Bless. Her organization was able to relocate a disabled mother and her family from Maryland to North Carolina within 2 months of her contacting them. The young mother was paralyzed during a domestic violence incident. As a result, her parents moved her to New Orleans to care for her and her son. However, 6 months later when Hurricane Katrina hit, the family was displaced in Maryland and struggled financially due to the high cost of living. Because of the organization resources and dedication to the aforementioned family, the mother is now the proud owner of a new 3-bedroom single-family home in a newly developed community in North Carolina. Her parents continue to care for her and her son. Eunita was also selected “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” in 2006, and received the “Children Advocacy Award” in 2005/2006 for he dedication and hard work as a foster parent. She has served as a Hysterectomy Education panelist and was a guest on a national radio talk show. In addition, Channel 9 and a North Carolina newspaper named her “good Samaritan” due to the relocation of a disabled Hurricane Katrina survivor. I'm a contemporary expressionist whose work teeters between that of an abstract painter and stylized designer. However, in realizing the complexities of my technique, I have gone a step beyond and developed a body of work that combines past and futuristic simplicity.

My artwork encompasses my interest in the Afrocentric and Ancient Egyptian cultures, adding to that an expression of simple rhythmic schemes.

In a little over three decades, I have held several one-woman shows and numerous group exhibitions. I have used my expressionistic-mixed-medium techniques on paper, canvas, and various other surfaces to bring the complexities of my style to life.
