Hello, I heard a portion of the radio show today and I want to say that there is a website called www.rawsoul@yahoogroups.com (out of Washington, DC) and Dr. Amen and Dr. Barouch frequently post helpful information there. I recently opened this living foods restaurant with the hopes of educating people about dietary change. I have gone through my own health regenerating process and I am also a psychologist, concerned about how the diets of children influence their behavior, so that they end up needlessly being diagnosed in some instances with ADHD. I did read some posts earlier and while a person can choose to eat meat, the sad facts are that they are about to clone animals for meat consumption, and guess who will probably get the cloned meat. If you don't want to give up meat, at least get it organic...you can go to your local health food store or to the Farmer's Market.

Some of the best food in Manhattan.

All 100% vegan to boot. The barbecue soy drumsticks are by far the best mock meat I've ever tasted. There is an overwhelming variety of menu options -- ethnic and American staples, including yummy chickpeas, collard greens, curried potatoes, brown rice, stuffed peppers, many styles of mock meats -- which makes it hard to choose. But since all of the entrees are wholesome and tasty, you can't go wrong. And you get a whopping 4 options if you order a large plate. Also, the servings are very generous. Uptown Juice Bar will definitely fill you up, and unlike other vegetarian places that overcompensate for their meatless cuisine with fake, questionable ingredients, the food at Uptown Juice Bar doesn't make you feel queasy afterwards. But I hesitate to call it health food, because it's just real, delicious food the way it's supposed to be prepared. ... And you can have your cake and eat it too! Their deserts are mouthwatering amazing! My favorite is the pineapple upside down cake, which is sweet and moist, light and fluffy. In flavor and texture alone, their deserts rival the best stuff I haven't tried their juices yet, but my goal is to keep coming back and eventually try everything on the menu. It might take me a few years!

Help mr Mike. B and the doctors. I live in SC and both of my children have asthma and i am 5 5 and 213lbs. I am with this I have not used the radio-wave to warm up food since you said it was not good for you. I have also stop eating all meat except for seafood. I think lack of knowledge and resouces are killing our people. It's hard to purchase those things, I know because I have been trying for years, but again lack of knowledge and resouces is my only stumbling block. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are several Whole Foods stores in the DFW area. I saw on your post that you are in Arlington and there is a Whole Food store out there on Collins Rd off of the 30 or 365. There is also another store called Central Market that is outstanding. They have 2 locations one in Plano or on lower Greenville (SMU area). I hope this helps!!

I heard what the guests on the show were saying today. BUT-the fact is that our food SUPPLY is jacked up. I don't think its that we all just sit around eating twinkies, cheetos, and grape soda all day.

I think most of us eat relatively sensibly, and make reasonable food choices. HOWEVER, it's our food supply that I call in question. Most of us probably pick up chicken or even veggies at the grocery store, thinking that we're making healthy choices. But I don't think that's a safe assumption now. If we were buying poultry or produce 100 years ago, it might be fine. But our mass-produced, consumerism-driven modern version of the same foods seem to be nutritionally deficient.

Why is it that we have access to more food, healthcare, and leisure time than ever before, but we're fatter, sicker, and hungrier than our preceeding generations? They ate the same foods we did (to some extent), but they didn't come with all the preservatives and toxins added during modern processing.

How do you bypass the chemical additives? I mean, does organic even really mean organic? Or is it just another buzz-word that the food industry uses to market the same old foodstuffs. Even if our health food stores do sell truly organic alternatives, will they be able to keep pace with America's insatiable appetite for MORE? It's easy to fill the back of your SUV with Perdue oven stuffers, but free range, organic poultry is much harder to come by. And then I won't even address the price delta. If we can't produce organics at the same economy of scale as mainstream foodstuffs, they'll always cost more, making them less accessible to most people.

I wonder how much elasticity there is in the staple foods market, really-how far up will people follow the market price to get that percieved additional value from higher quality an better nutrition?

another good health food store is DEEP ROOTS located on spring garden road in greensboro. an excellent vegan restaurant is BOBA HOUSE, located at 332 tate street also in greensboro. parking can be difficult for BOBA HOUSE, (it's located near the college campus), but the food is worth it. I love the ginger "chicken" dish with mango bango iced tea. it is not expensive either $4.50 to $9. AND, michael, if you tried it you wouldn't beleive you're not eating meat. I love beef and the beef and broccoli could easily fool a carnivour.

there are numerous ways to do this...

I just looked thru all of these threads on vegetarian, health food stores and restaurants, hoping that I'd find another in orlando...but instead, I decided to post my own...there's a new Vegan restaurant in Orlando...it's the only100% vegan rest. in town...and just opened a couple weeks ago...the prices are very reasonable...and I went there yesterday for the first time and the food is delicious..I had the "what's the dilly philly" its made with seitan and peppers and veganaise...and it was to die for...there's also a place called Dandelion Communitea Cafe'...their food is organic and some vegan...but it's mainly cold dishes...like salads...they have different teas and their chilli is awesome tho!...here's the info on these two:

While fresh greens are the best, you can get dried greens to add to smoothies at any health food store. Also, Trader Joe's is a great resource for healthy foods at reasonable prices. They have capsules of greens that you can take like a vitamin if you don't like the taste. http://www.traderjoes.com/

If you are in New York and a meat eater but want a reasonably healthy alternative, check out Dines Farms. They offer grass-fed meat (no hormones, additives, naturally raised animals) and deliver throughout the area, but cannot ship out of state. http://www.dinesfarms.net/

Is there some way this recipe can be posted? Are there any other quick breakfast meals can be posted for those of us interested in making some changes towards healthy alternatives?
