:) The energy was powerful and motivating. I couldnt get through on the phone lines but I was so proud to see alot of people old, young, black and white support our, i must say, handsome, smart, intelligent brothers of " Jena 6". It really did good to my heart that the city of baltimore, thats known for its high crime rates, come together as one and support this blessing. Its a blessing and a curse because its bringing us together as a family and a curse because a six lives are being put in jeopardy. With continued action, we will get through this.:)

I am very proud to have been a part of the Jena 6 protest rallies in Baltimore, MD. I agree with Michael Baisden when he says more people in the community need to be heard. It was a blessing to be at the New Shiloh Baptist Church yesterday evening and hear people from the community come to the mic and comment. Unfortunately, their time was cut short so that a singer coming out with a new cd and a few more community leaders could say a word. It was all a blessing and the organizers promised to have another community meeting to keep the momentum going. I hope they keep their promise. I was born in 1968. I grew up hearing "BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL" men and women calling each other brother and sister no matter where you were or who you were. Families didn't have much and what we did have we took good care of it and made it shine to its' fullest extent. Now it seems that we're reaping what our forefathers fought and died for and we've stopped caring about each other, the family unit, our communities. We've abandoned everything that made us strong as a people. Some whites see this vulnerability and take full advantage of kicking us when we're already down. My dream is that Blacks will begin to trust one another enough to love one another in order to work together. Come back to the communities that were abandoned and rebuild what has been lost. It would be nice for us to call each other beautiful brother and sister again instead of bitches, 'ho's, scrubs and golddiggers.

I have such a full heart. I was in Jena and I had the opportunity to be involved in the most important day of modern Black History. Today marks the Day that Black People have needed for a long time now. WE ARE BACK TOGETHER AND STRONG!!!!!!! "THANK YOU JENA" YOU HAVE STARTED A FIRE THAT WILL LITE THE FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN FOR YEARS TO COME. For a long time we didn't know that we had this type of power, we felt that struggle was over. Thank you Jena, for giving us that kick in the butt and letting us know that there are place and people like this all over the Nation. Now for the biggest "THANK YOU" FOR GIVING US THE REASON TO BREATH LIFE INTO THE PRIDE, STRENGTH, FAITH, POWER AND LOVE FOR OUR BEAUTIFUL BLACK PEOPLE. Wherever this fight takes "US" please know that "WE" will be there.
Much LOVE to ALL my BLACK PEOPLE,

CNN was more correct about the numbers between 65 70,000 people.
If you want to include the 20,000 that were left on the interstate that the local police would not let in. I watched the Highway Patrol come down the opposite side of the interstate at least tree Highway Patrol cars moved
the local police out-of-the-way to get the buses roll and again.

I seen on the news today that there is a KKK organization that has listed 5 of the members of the Jena 6 families names and addresses on a website this past Thursday. On the website it is asking for people to take justice against the Jena 6 and lynch them!
According to the news report, the FBI is investigating this and Jesse Jackson is asking the government (President Bush) for protection for the families of the Jena 6, as they have been receiving threatening phone calls around the clock.

Being a part of the Jena-cide rally was absolutely amazing. I traveled from Houston with my two boys who are 14 and 11 to be a part of this wonderful movement of solidarity. I must admit that I listened to Mike and George and the others talk about this movement for the last 3 weeks and initially although very upset about it all, did not even consider driving to Jena, until Monday. That was the turning point. Something struck a chord in me and I finally said, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and felt that I had to go. Once, I made up my mind to go, I wasn't letting anything stop me for being there. I decided to rent a car and drive myself and my boys the 4 1/2 hrs to Alexandria. I do not regret it that I made the decision to do so. I know that this movement has definitely changed me. As for my boys, I'm not sure yet what impact this has had on their lives. That remains to be seen. What's happened in Jena is not an isolated incident, I am the Jena 6 and so are my boys. Wherever I need to be for the next rally. I'LL BE THERE, CUZ IF NOT ME THEN WHO?

Thursday, September 20, 2007 was a day I will never forget. It was hard for me to hold back tears as I witnessed thousands descending on the Upper Senate Park which is located directly in front of the Capitol Building. Teachers ushered in students, parents ushered in children, colleagues ushered in one another, and together we stood to support justice. Far to long as a people we have watched injustice after injustice.
I was reminded that when we stand united we have a powerful voice. Today reminded me that there is still so much work to be done. The rally was organized by 'A Call to Action' and we will soon release our next course of action. Please take this important time to reflect on what you can do in your family, neighborhood, and community to strengthen and empower those around you.
Some of you answered my call for water donations and it was greatly appreciated. I was very moved when I went to several stores to purchase water and encountered kindness from strangers. One gentleman in his early 70's helped load water into my truck. He said to me, 'I can not be at the rally, but this is my part-I am doing this for the families in Jena.' During the rally, many returned to say 'thank you' for the free water. So again, if you donated water, or attended the rally, or supported this day in anyway--thank you. If you did not feel moved to do so, know that your voice is powerful. I said to many young men today, 'we are doing this for you.' All of them (every single one of them) looked me straight in the eyes and said, 'thank you.

Temple University in Philadelphia students and local NAACP rallied at Temple University's 'bell tower' in the courtyard...
Let me tell you this. I couldnt rest until I found a way to be a part of the 'movement'. I listened to the local affiliate WDAS-FM (105.3) and heard about the rally at Temple. I broke my neck to get there and be a part of it. It was a great turnout. It made me feel good to see all the young people, chanting, shouting, displaying their passion for what is going on in that kangaroo court of Louisiana. FREE THE JENA 6!

The Little Rock Nine, once barred from Central High School because they are black, arrived on its soggy campus in limousines Tuesday as the community marked 50 years since President Eisenhower directed soldiers to escort the students inside.
"You can overcome adversity if you know you are doing the right thing," said Carlotta Walls Lanier, one of the nine.
About 4,500 people gathered on the front lawn of the inner-city campus, where the high school is now 52 percent black, to commemorate one of the key moments in the civil rights movement.
Former President Clinton held open the school's doors in a symbolic gesture.
"I am grateful we had a Supreme Court that saw 'separate but equal' and 'states rights' for the shams they were, hiding our desire to preserve the oppression of African-Americans, and I am grateful more than I can say that we had a president who was determined to enforce the order of the court," Clinton said.
The two-hour ceremony included brief remarks by each of the Little Rock Nine: Melba Patillo Beals, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Gloria Ray Karlmark, Carlotta Walls Lanier, Terrence Roberts, Jefferson Thomas, Minnijean Brown Trickey and Thelma Mothershed Wair.
"The thing I feared most in my life were white policemen. White policemen have guarded me these last few days. I've spoken to them. We've talked to each other," Beals said. "As I stepped out of my limousine, a white man who doesn't know me reached for the collar, the lapel, of my coat, and straightened it.
"It is the look in your eyes, the smile on your faces — white, black, green or blue — the determination in the eyes of those of color and the willingness to move ahead, that makes me know we're cool," she said.
Society has made progress, but Gov. Mike Beebe and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola noted that economic and educational inequalities still exist.
"We have the largest black middle-class in our history, but 35 percent of black children in the city live below the poverty line," said Stodola, who is white. "There is a pervasive feeling that we are two cities. We may be desegregated, but we have a way to go to be integrated."
In September 1957, then-Gov. Orval Faubus used the Arkansas National Guard to keep nine black children out of Central High, telling a statewide TV audience that court-ordered integration would spark mob violence. He didn't acknowledge that he helped manufacture the crisis to boost his segregationist credentials.
Outside the school Tuesday, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said the civil rights struggle continues 50 years later in a social system that has "first-class jails and second-class schools."
"We were winning against all odds. Now we're begging youth to attend school," Jackson said.
Dale Charles, head of the state NAACP chapter, said the commemoration overstated the progress in race relations. He called it a commercial piece: "After today, the lights will go out and people will look at something else."
The U.S. Supreme Court declared segregated classrooms unconstitutional, ruling that many districts were operating education systems that were separate but not equal. By the fall of 1957, the Charleston and Fayetteville school districts had integrated peacefully, but agitators targeted Little Rock for trouble.
For three weeks, Little Rock became the focus of a showdown between Faubus and Eisenhower. Faubus pulled the Guard away, but a crowd gathered outside the school Sept. 23 to prevent it from complying with U.S. District Judge Ronald Davies' desegregation order.
Eisenhower that night authorized the use of federal troops to enforce Davies' order, and members of the 101st Airborne escorted the Little Rock Nine to classes on Sept. 25, 1957.
The White House issued a statement Tuesday honoring the Little Rock Nine for their courage. "We resolve to continue their work to make America a more perfect Union," the statement said.

It is time for us to address the social and civic injustice and discord that permeates from the 22nd floor of Government Center and embraces unethical values that zero into and destroys the zenith of one's character, while plaguing communities and families...yes, innocent citizens of Toledo.
Upon Carleton Finkbeiner taking leadership of this city as mayor, he listed 34-campaign pledges. He stated that his administration would unite and promote, in every way possible, a clean, green, and safe city with vibrant colors everywhere – a city that inspires our citizens to improve our neighborhoods, educate our children, and create jobs that offer a future in their hometown.
Mayor Finkbeiner stated that job creation comes with an environment that invites new investment in our city. He stated that he would focus on building and maintaining the business base of Toledo, to ensure jobs, and opportunity for all.
He stated that too many Toledoans lack pride and confidence. Pride in our past, pride in our present and confidence in our future. Mayor Finkbeiner stated that he promoted full accountability for all city employees, and that even during the difficult times the citizens of Toledo would receive the best quality services we can deliver to them.
We are here to say that Mayor Finkbeiner has been a golden child in front of the cameras during election time, but he has been a deceptive advocate, a drum major for injustice behind close doors. We recommend that the $9,996 shower on the 22nd floor of Government Center be used to wash away the injustice and the malfeasance that stains this city.
Please allow me to state the facts:
In May 2006 he called Toledo's first African-American Fire Chief...King Kong. He later violated the First Amendment Provisions regarding Freedom of the Press, when his press secretary forcibly kept a WSPD reporter out of a public press conference. He also disregarded and discredited Michael Ashford as being elected city council president. He accused Gary Daugherty, a respectable man with a engineering degree, as being lazy.
He fired the Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance Director Perlean Griffin, and he also stated that those city directors who spoke to Perlean Griffin would also be dealt with. Which brings me to this...
Dwayne Morehead did not heed the strong-armed threats of Mayor Finkbeiner, but rather chose the path of righteousness by standing for what was right. Because Morehead continued to speak with Perlean Griffin, he was demoted from being the co-director of the city's Youth Commission to being an administrative specialist, and was placed on a 30-day probation period and was instructed to report to Juanita Greene who is the executive director of the Board of Community Relations. He knew that he was being set-up to be fired. Dwayne Morehead has become a casualty of the cause of injustice.
On April 18, 2007 Dwayne Morehead received a letter signed by Mayor Finkbeiner congratulating him on being nominated for the 2006 Toledoan of the Year Awards, and expressing his gratitude for for the outstanding work he has done in this city.
Those same qualities that allowed Morehead to be nominated, also gave him the courage and the strength to stand up for what is right. In doing so, On June 29 Dwayne Morehead was suspended for 30 days and recently he was fired.
Mayor Finkbeiner, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We will no longer be strong-armed. We send a message that we will not lie down on the bed of injustice, but that we will stand up and ensure that everyone is protected equally, fairly, equitably and that everyone has the same opportunity. This issue is one of race and it is about doing what is ethical, what is morally right. We all have a civil right to success. That is not a privilege, it is a civil right!
We charge Mayor Finkbeiner with being out of order and in direct disobedience and violation to the Family Medical Leave Act which states: Employees are entitled to leave from employment due to a serious health condition. The Family Medical Leave Act states that the employee provide a certification from a health care provider.
We send a clarion call that Dwayne Morehead has been fired due to retaliation. We proclaim that Morehead has legitimate disease conditions that are under the care and supervision of Dr. Baldwin, who submitted the proper paperwork stating that Morehead could not report to work, and that he is to be on medical leave. Mayor Finkbeiner and Juanita Greene blatantly ignored and discredited the professional experience of Dr. Baldwin, by rejecting and ignoring her assessment of Dwayne Morehead's condition of illness.
We will not tolerate or ignore Mayor Finkbeiner's tactics in the dismissal of Dwayne Morehead or any other city employee unjustly...regardless of your race. This is an issue of morality that not only affects one, but it affects an entire family. It affects the lives of Morehead's six children and wife at home. It affects the citizens of Toledo, it discredits the phrase “Toledo Pride.” This is not about what party you're part of, this is about right and wrong...the conscience of this city.
Since its inception in 1946, The Board of Community Relations has served the conscience of this city, and as such, has sought to create a heightened sense of awareness that inequality and discrimination still exist. The board exists to promote, empower and support citizens to create social justice, equal opportunity and a harmonious environment. They are to intervene in conflicts and disputes, by providing investigation into unlawful discriminatory practices.
Because Morehead's termination letter was signed by Juanita Greene by the orders of Mayor Carleton Finkbeiner, this creates an unethical conflict of interest for the Board of Community Relations to do there job by investigating this matter. Morehead has a charge with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission against the Executive Director of the Board of Community Relations, Juanita Greene. Therefore, any investigation conducted by the board would surely be bias....as Juanita Greene is the one who does the investigations, and surely it would be unprofessional and unethical for her to investigate herself concerning this matter. In addition, Mayor Finkbeiner can not ignore and he can not minimize the charges for his actions. The facts don't lie. In addition, Brian Schwartz, the mayor's public information officer, someone who gets paid to speak for the Mayor....stated on a local blog website called Swamp Bubbles...that Morehead should be fired! Brian Schwartz also stated that Morehead should be grateful the mayor took him from a blue-collar worker to management, and that Morehead betrayed the mayor. Isn't it a big coincidence...that the suspension letter given to Dwayne Morehead stated that all the problems began on or about March 7, 2007....which happens to be the day after Morehead filed charges against the Finkbeiner administration?
In addition, at a press conference on Monday, September 10, 2007 Brian Schwartz passed out the employee file of Dwayne Morehead outside of Government Center to anyone who wanted it. First and foremost, this just shows that the Finkbeiner administration is desperate and will do anything they can to discredit Morehead. In addition, we obtained the files and isn't it interesting that the letter that Mayor Finkbeiner sent Mr. Morehead congratulating him for being nominated for the Toledoan of the Year Award wasn't in his file? Also there are NO violations or disciplinary issues noted in Morehead's file from Finkbeiner's inauguration in January 2005 until March 2007 incidents that began with his demotion ....the day after Morehead filed his charges against Finkbeiner!
Perhaps the Finkbeiner administration should study the law a bit more, before passing out employee files to total strangers at will. The law states: "The public has a right to know certain information about its employees, such as name, work address, salary, job classification and title, job performance. (See R.C. 124.09(C), R.C. 149.43(B)(1)). However, a public employee also has the right to non-disclosure of personal or confidential information contained in his or her personnel file. In applying the Public Records Act to public record requests involving personnel files of governmental employees, the Ohio Supreme Court has balanced the publics interest in accessing public records against the employee’s interest in protecting his or her privacy.
In State ex rel. Fant v. Enright (1993), 66 Ohio St.3d 186, Appellant made a public records request of the Clerk of Courts of Franklin County to inspect the personnel file of the former Franklin County Deputy Clerk. The Clerk of Courts refused to release the requested personnel file for inspection; Appellant filed a complaint for a writ of mandamus to compel release of the personnel file. The lower court denied the writ. On appeal, the Ohio Supreme Court emphasized that an item contained in a personnel file is a public record only when it is kept by a public office and serves to document the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, operations or other activities of the office.
The Court observed that not all information contained in a personnel file would be considered a public record and that, pursuant to R.C. 1347.01(E), a public office has an affirmative duty to protect from disclosure personal or confidential information contained in a personnel file. Accordingly, the personal or confidential information must be redacted or removed from the personnel file prior to inspection and/or copying. (See, also Sunshine Laws Update (May 2001), Attorney General Betty D. Montgomery; Sunshine Law An Update, Public Practice Continuing Legal Education (November 2001), Attorney General Betty D. Montgomery – advises keeping confidential files in a separate drawer, file cabinet or office to reduce the possibility of someone reviewing an inappropriate file.)"
In addition, apparently in the files were offenses allegedly committed by Morehead under the Ford administration. There is only one problem, Morehead never worked for Mayor Ford, he was a union employee. Furthermore, the city rules state that the information was supposed to be removed 18 months after the document was placed in the file. It’s been four years since the last document was placed in the file. It appears to me that this is such a gross injustice and the only thing the city can do to protect themselves is to slur Morehead. If the Finkbeiner administration is able to reveal Morehead's employee files to the general public ... than perhaps the general public should request to see the employee files of the Finkbeiner administration beginning with Mayor Finkbeiner himself.
Therefore, we are requesting that the NAACP, the Toledo Urban League along with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission fully investigate the wrongful discharge of Dwayne Morehead and report it's finding's back to the citizens of Toledo. The citizens of Toledo have a right to hold Mayor Finkbeiner accountable for his frivolous actions.
Why should the NAACP and the Urban League get involved? According to the NAACP mission statement listed on their website it states, “they are to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.” According to the Urban League website their mission states they are to “enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. So, the question is...Why? Why don't the Toledo chapters of the NAACP and Urban League get involved?
Where are the religious leaders? Being a religious leader is more than just going to church. It is not about having big billboards, selling chicken dinners, who has the most members or the biggest church … what about being involved and caring about the injustice that often affects the lives of so many people. When will we as leaders stop trying to build mega-churches? When will we learn to stop using hurting people coming to us for help, as a way to get rich off their tithes and offerings? When will we stop expecting the people to serve us? As pastors ... we are to serve the people! It is time for the religious community to wake up and realize that it is not about us, and it has never been about us. It is time for us to take a stand against the injustices that continue to happen within this city ... after all, we should consider Matthew 25:31-46.
In conclusion, we are cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities. We cannot sit idly by and not be concerned about what is happening in this city. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.
Toledo Pride, Toledo Pride … Mayor Finkbeiner, pride comes before a fall. And if this city falls, it is only a direct reflection of its leadership.

Bottom line, we have got to get organized. We need to create a network of communication amongst African Americans. Something similar to what Louis Farrakhan suggested at "The Millions More March". Michael Baisden is the perfect catalyst for all this. Keep in mind he cant do it alone. And we need serious sisters and brothers who are willing to see this through to the end. We need people who are not afraid of hard work. A department of communications, dept of justice, dept of politics, dept of medicine/health, dept of spirituality, and etc. We cant find each other geographically. If you own a music store and you are in California I will pay the shipping to support you. But I cant because I dont know you exist. WE HAVE GOT TO GET ORGANIZED. Where are the African American Web developers? Create web pages that bring us together. If you live in D.C, I dont have much, but I will do all I can to help you. We can do this, but we must organize first. THat is the one thing we have always lacked organization.

UPDATE: FBI SAYS THEY WILL NOT SEEK CHARGES
AGAINST THE PUBLISHERS OF THIS WEBSITE
The Federal Bureau of Investigation told WREG-TV in Memphis today that they will not seek criminal charges or legal action against the American National Socialist Workers Party, LLC, or its Commander, Bill White.
"As I've said from the beginning, this nonsense about an 'FBI investigation' has been nothing but a farce cooked up by the Jew media to intimidate other whites who might be inclined to speak out," ANSWP Commander Bill White stated today, "We have not broken any laws and we have not done anything more extreme than any of the niggers who marched in the street to demand the right to lynch white people did last week."
This is at least the sixth time this year the FBI has chosen not to seek charges against White after he or his supporters have engaged in provocative activism. The first was after an ANSWP supporter, Eric Hunt, kidnapped famed Jewish liar Elie Wiesel. The second was after a group of niggers in Virginia Beach demand White be investigated for insulting them after they filed a false complaint of racial discrimination against their landlord. The third was after Roanoke Times editor Christian Trejbal published the names of Virginia Concealed Carry permit holder on the internet and received bomb threats. The fourth is after ANSWP supporters distributed literature outside the home of Leonard Pitts and allegedly made threatening phone calls to him. The fifth time was when the North Carolina NAACP demanded we be prosecuted for mass mailing 2000 fliers demanding an end to nigger crime in Henderson, North Carolina. Last year, this site's largest controvery occurred when the FBI refused to extradite White to Canada for allegedly plotting the assassination of Canadian anti-white lawyer Richard Warman.
Look at this website here:

We need to put Bill White and this website on blast!!!! Come on family, we must get this website shut down!!!!!
This website list the names, addresses and phone numbers of the Jena 6, and is encouraging people to lynch them and their family.
WE MUST STOP THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! Support the Jena 6, No justice, No peace!

I watched the DA in his announcement not to appeal...but he started out thanking the LA police department for the fine job they did when the 1,000's and 1,000's of demonstrators came to Jena last Thursday. I would like to thank them as well for ARRESTING the drunken drive that had the nooses tied on his truck and the gun he had in the back, I want to thank them for keeping me safe!!! :) :)

Sharpton: Bail being posted for Mychal Bell
Story Highlights
NEW: Prosecutor won't appeal ruling in Mychal Bell case
Bell and five other black teens are accused of beating white student Justin Barker
Beating followed white students hanging nooses from a tree on school grounds
(CNN) -- Bail was being posted Thursday for Mychal Bell, a black teenager accused of beating a white classmate, after a district attorney's announcement that he would not appeal a higher court's decision moving Bell's case to juvenile court, according to the Rev. Al Sharpton.
Bell's bail was set at $45,000, Sharpton said. The paperwork was being worked out, he said, and the bail bondsman was at the courthouse.
Earlier Thursday, Bell was moved from jail to a juvenile facility, according to his attorney, Lewis Scott.
LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters said his decision not to appeal was based on what he believed is best for the victim in the case.
"While I believe that a review would have merit ... I believe it is in the best interest of the victim and his family not to delay this matter any further and move it to its conclusion," Walters told reporters. Watch the district attorney say he won't challenge the ruling. »
He said a march by 15,000 people last week in the small town of 3,000 residents led by civil rights leaders Sharpton and Martin Luther King III did not influence his decision.
Demonstrators were protesting how authorities handled the cases of Bell and five other teens accused of beating fellow student Justin Barker.
Many said they are angry that the students, dubbed the "Jena 6," are being treated more harshly than three white students who hung nooses from an oak tree on high school property.
The white students were suspended from school but did not face criminal charges. The protesters say they should have been charged with a hate crime.
Bell, now 17, was the only one of the Jena 6 behind bars. His bond previously was set at $90,000.
A district judge earlier this month tossed out Bell's conviction for conspiracy to commit second-degree battery, saying the matter should have been handled in juvenile court. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles, Louisiana, did the same with Bell's battery conviction in mid-September.
Prosecutors originally charged all six black students accused of being involved in beating Barker with second-degree attempted murder and conspiracy. Walters reduced charges against at least four of them -- Bell, Robert Bailey Jr., Carwin Jones and Theo Shaw -- to battery and conspiracy.
Bryant Purvis awaits arraignment. Charges against Jesse Ray Beard, who was 14 at the time of the alleged crime, are unavailable because he's a juvenile.
Wednesday, Gov. Kathleen Blanco announced that Louisiana State Police officers will protect the families of the Jena 6 and investigate any threats they have received. A white supremacist Web site posted the names and addresses of the six black teens after last week's march, calling on followers to "let them know justice is coming."
Thursday, the FBI said it has been made aware of allegations of threats.
"Threats are taken seriously, and as these investigations are ongoing we cannot comment further," said Sheila Thorne of the FBI's New Orleans, Louisiana, office.
The December 4 attack on Barker came after months of racial tension, including at least two instances of fighting in the town, sparked originally when three white teens hung nooses from an oak tree on the town's high school grounds.
Walters has said there was no direct link between the hanging of the nooses and the schoolyard attack, and defended the prosecutions ahead of last Thursday's peaceful march. Blanco defended the prosecutor Wednesday, saying, "He has a solid record and is highly respected among his peers."
Walters also addressed the stress and notoriety the town has been subjected to, saying the only way he and other residents "have been able to endure the trauma that has been thrust upon us is through the prayers of the Christian people who have sent them up in this community."
He also suggested that some kind of "disaster" was averted when thousands of marchers came to Jena last week.
"I firmly believe and am confident of the fact that had it not been for the direct intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ last Thursday, a disaster would have happened," Walters said.
"The Lord Jesus Christ put his influence on those people and they responded accordingly," he said, without explaining exactly what he meant.
Soon after the district attorney spoke, a local reverend took issue with his comments.
"Obviously, we are serving two different gods here," the Rev. Donald Sidley said. "My Bible says that we should do -- we should be loving, love your neighbor as yourself.
"For him to try and separate the community like he is and then using Christ Jesus to influence the people that Jesus is working on their side, well, that's -- that's absurd. ... God is god of the human race," said Sidley, of the New Evergreen Church.

Sharpton: Bail being posted for Mychal Bell
(CNN) -- Bail was being posted Thursday for Mychal Bell, a black teenager accused of beating a white classmate, after a district attorney's announcement that he would not appeal a higher court's decision moving Bell's case to juvenile court, according to the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Jena 6 teen released on $45,000 bail By DOUG SIMPSON, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 27 minutes ago
A black teenager whose prosecution in the beating of a white classmate prompted a massive civil rights protest here walked out of a courthouse Thursday after a judge ordered him freed.
Mychal Bell's release on $45,000 bail came hours after a prosecutor confirmed he would no longer seek an adult trial for the 17-year-old. Bell, one of the teenagers known as the Jena Six, still faces trial as a juvenile in the December beating in this small central Louisiana town.
"We still have mountains to climb, but at least this is closer to an even playing field," said the Rev. Al Sharpton, who helped organize last week's protest.
"He goes home because a lot of people left their home and stood up for him," Sharpton said as Bell stood smiling next to him.
"There's only one person who could have brought me through this and that's the good Lord," Bell told reporters later in front of his father's house.
District Attorney Reed Walters' decision to abandon adult charges means that Bell, who had faced a maximum of 15 years in prison on his aggravated second-degree battery conviction last month, instead could be held only until he turns 21 if he is found guilty in juvenile court.
The conviction in adult court was thrown out this month by the state 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal, which said Bell should not have been tried as an adult on that particular charge.
Walters had said he would appeal that decision. On Thursday, he said he still believes there was legal merit to trying Bell as an adult but decided it was in the best interest of the victim, Justin Barker, and his family to let the juvenile court handle the case.
"They are on board with what I decided," Walters said at a news conference.
Bell faces juvenile court charges of aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy to commit that crime.
He is among six black Jena High School students arrested in December after a beating that left Barker unconscious and bloody, though the victim was able to attend a school function later that day. Four of the defendants were 17 at the time, which made them adults under Louisiana law.
Those four and Bell, who was 16, all were initially charged with attempted murder. Walters has said he sought to have Bell tried as an adult because he already had a criminal record, and because he believed Bell instigated the attack.
The charges have been dropped to aggravated second-degree battery in four of the cases. One defendant has yet to be arraigned. The sixth defendant's case is sealed in juvenile court.
Bell's lawyer, Carol Powell Lexing, said his next hearing is set for Tuesday.
Critics accuse Walters, who is white, of prosecuting blacks more harshly than whites. They note that he filed no charges against three white teens suspended from the high school over allegations they hung nooses in a tree on campus not long before fights between blacks and whites, including the attack on Barker.
An estimated 20,000 to 25,000 protesters marched in Jena last week in a scene that evoked the early years of the civil rights movement.
Walters said the demonstration had no influence on his decision not to press the adult charges, and ended his news conference by saying that only God kept the protest peaceful.
"The only way — let me stress that — the only way that I believe that me or this community has been able to endure the trauma that has been thrust upon us is through the prayers of the Christian people who have sent them up in this community," Walters said.
"I firmly believe and am confident of the fact that had it not been for the direct intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ last Thursday, a disaster would have happened. You can quote me on that."
The Rev. Donald Sibley, a black Jena pastor, called it a "shame" that Walters credited divine intervention for the protesters acting responsibly.
"What I'm saying is, the Lord Jesus Christ put his influence on those people, and they responded accordingly," Walters responded.
After the news conference, Sibley told CNN that Walters had insulted the protesters by making a false separation between "his Christ and our Christ."
"For him to use it in the sense that because his Christ, his Jesus, because he prayed, because of his police, that everything was peaceful and was decent and in order — that's not the truth," Sibley said.
Walters has said repeatedly that Barker's suffering has been lost in the furor over the case, and that what happened to the teen was much more severe than a schoolyard fight.
Walters also has defended his decision not to seek charges in the hanging of the nooses, which he said was "abhorrent and stupid" but not a crime.

To this, may I add, like that Nimnod stated during that CNN Report, regarding the prayer of the Jena, LA residents, (which Michael played yesterday):

The Lord Jesus Christ put his influence on those people and they responded accordingly," he said, without explaining exactly what he meant.
He obviously meant that everything that happened in the fight for justice was inspired by Jesus.
God is in control.
Personally speaking, if he thinks that Jesus would have condoned his prosecution of the Jena 6, then there's a LOT about Christ he doesn't know!

READ THIS NEW ARTICLE
The Jena Six are African-American teenage boys in Louisiana who were charged with attempted murder for what amounted to a schoolyard smackdown. It is, indeed, as black folks have been saying for weeks, a case of the justice system meting out unequal justice.
Mychal Bell, one of the Jena Six, is the only one who’s been tried so far. His charges were reduced to aggravated battery, and he was found guilty in June. But what else happened in June?
At a predominantly black housing project called Dunbar Village in West Palm Beach, Florida, 10 black teens repeatedly raped a Haitian immigrant woman before forcing her to perform oral sex on her 12-year-old son. Why doesn’t what happened to the West Palm Beach Two outrage the good reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton just as much as what happened in Jena, Louisiana?
Jesse and Al have been to Jena, railing about injustice. If either has made an appearance in West Palm Beach, Fla., to rail about the injustice of what happened to the West Palm Beach Two, someone please kindly correct me.
You know which body count I’m talking about. In Baltimore, as of the time I’m writing this, that body count has reached 215. It might top 300 by year’s end. Last year, Philadelphia’s body count was over 400.
Over 400 murdered in Philadelphia in 2006 and 215 in Baltimore this year. And let’s not forget who most of the victims are: Young black men, just like the Jena Six.
The case of the Jena Six has inspired some black folks to let out a war whoop as they sally forth to slay yet another dragon of white racism. But those black folks who think that white racism is the only problem we face in 2007, or even the main one, are deluding themselves.
In fact, our obsession with white racism, and with a criminal justice system that we insist is rife with white racism and institutional racism, may contribute to that body count. Here’s how.
I can’t speak for other cities, but in Baltimore our body count gets so high because jurors in this town repeatedly cut loose young black men accused of violent crimes. In Baltimore -- Bodymore, Murderland, the criminals call it -- the typical homicide victim is a young black man with a criminal record. Homicide suspects have the same profile.
I’ve had people in a position to know tell me that, more frequently than is ever reported, Baltimore jurors have cut loose young black men with lengthy criminal records who have been accused of either murder or another violent crime. It is our insistence that white racism is pervasive and that the criminal justice system is rife with racism that may inspire some jurors to send these young black men back out on the streets, where they commit more murders.
So, yes, we should protest -- and protest vigorously -- whenever cases like that of the Jena Six come along. But our lips should not be sealed shut when a black woman is raped and forced to perform oral sex on her 12-year-old son.
That body count of young black men murdered should outrage us every bit as much as what’s happened to the Jena Six. A young black man murdering another young black man and then walking out of court scot-free is just as much an injustice as six young black men being railroaded by the Louisiana criminal justice system.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” Martin Luther King Jr. once said.
And he might have added that injustice doesn’t come only in the color of white.

According to statistics, the majority of young black males convicted of violent crimes were raised in homes WITHOUT FATHERS.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
African american women have a 63% divorce rate and 70% of all black american kids are raised in homes without fathers.
We can solve the black on black crime problem when we finally come to terms and face that!

Dear Michael Baisden,
First and foremost, my co-workers and I (Thelma Rector) would like to thank you for doing such a wonderful, memorable job concerning the Jena 6 issue. Your updates everyday on this situation have truly been a blessing to everyone. This picture represents "Black Thursday" for the Jena 6. There were people at my job who had no clue as to what was going on, due to lack of media coverage. God put it on my heart to share this awful news with my friends and co-workers so that they would be aware of this situation in Louisiana. This is a world-wide problem and we had to do our part, here in Warrenton, Virginia, to represent those six young boys, especially Michael Bell, and take a stand for equal justice.
Thanks for organizing such a beautiful, peaceful and outstanding protest, march and rally. We as people have to keep our heads above water and let it be known that enough is enough. We, the Dietary Department at Fauquier Hospital say "Thanks" and lets continue our journey toward helping others.
Sincerely,
Al Campbell
