Authorities in Alexandria, Louisiana, arrested two people after nooses were seen hanging from the back of a red pickup Thursday night, the city's mayor told CNN.

Alexandria is less than an hour away from Jena, Louisiana, and was a staging area Thursday for protesters who went to the smaller town to demonstrate against the treatment of six black teens known as the "Jena 6" in racially charged incidents.

Police say the 18-year-old driver of the truck was charged with driving while intoxicated and inciting to riot and also may be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor -- the 16-year-old passenger.

As police were questioning the driver, he said he had an unloaded rifle in the back, which police found. They also found a set of brass knuckles in the cup holder on the dashboard, according to the police report.

The passenger told police he and his family are in the Ku Klux Klan, the police report said. He also said he had tied the nooses and that the brass knuckles belonged to him, the report said. Watch what police found on the truck »

At least one of the nooses was made out of an extension cord, according to the police report.

Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy said those arrested were "from around Jena" and not in the same parish as his city. See where the incident occurred »

The police report says a crowd of about 200 people, mostly African-Americans, watched the arrest take place.

Roy said the incident is "not indicative" of Alexandria and that local authorities will look into the matter "completely, thoroughly and transparently."

A photograph of the truck was sent to CNN by Casanova Love, 26, who said he's in the U.S. Navy. He's visiting his family in Louisiana.

Love said he was standing outside a club with some friends Thursday night when he saw the red pickup drive by slowly with two nooses hanging from it.

He said the truck continued up the street and passed by a large group of Jena 6 protesters standing outside a bus stop. Police then pulled over the vehicle.

Love explained why he sent the photo to CNN: "People need to see this. It's 2007, and we still have fools acting like it's 1960."

State police estimated at least 15,000 people gathered in Jena on Thursday to protest what they consider unequal punishments meted out in recent racially charged cases.

One involved the hanging of nooses from a tree a day after black students sat under what had been an informal gathering place for white students. The students involved were suspended from school for a brief time.

Another was the beating of a white student that resulted in six black teens facing charges that include aggravated second-degree battery.

This is just...I have no words for how I feel right now. They are just sad; I mean, trying to start trouble when there was none. This just goes to show people what those young men were probably dealing with almost everyday of their lives in Jena.

And can you all believe that some people had the nerve to say, "I don't see what the big deal is about." I told one lady, "I'm sure you wouldn't if your ancestors weren't the ones hung in trees from nooses." See, a lot of people don't like to revisit our history, because it's so ugly. They want to sweep it under a rug and hope it goes away. Well, as you can see, it's not going to go away until we confront it and deal with it.

See, that's why I have my kids watching ROOTS everyday this week until they are finished. I want them to understand why Mom and Dad are on them about getting their education. I also want them to be appreciative of all that we provide for them. Next, they'll be watching "Eyes on the Prize", because I want them to know that Martin Luther King, Jr. wasn't the only civil rights activist, even though he is the one that they teach our kids about a lot. And I also want them to have respect for those who made it possible for Mom and Dad to be able to provide a nice house for them to live in, in a nice neighborhood, where they can go to a nice school that has a good education program.

People, we have to teach our kids, because this is a prime example of what's waiting on them if we don't.

CNN has edited this story, but a couple hours ago it had a quote from one of the police sergeants who arrested the boys, that I thought was very appropriate. He said it was too bad Louisiana didn't have a charge of "aggravated ignorance" he could charge the boys with, because they certainly were that. I think they were just out to get a little notariety, to be the "blight on the Jena Six march." Let's not let them do that! That's not what we want the march to be remembered by...two "ignorant" boys trying to cause trouble, when a crowd of 20,000 or more came together for justice.

If Alexandria Mayor Jacque Roy said this incident will be investigated, you can bet it will. He came out, in his pajamas, when he found out about this and quickly apoligized and talked to everyone that were still out there.

What is this world coming to. We really have to take action on this!!!! We can't as black people allow this to happen. The state and federal government is taking this as a joke because they feel we have no power. I am single black mother with two lovely kids and now I am scared, to think that the government has so much power over the TVs, News Papers. I agree that there is so much information that is not being stated which is giving the white america the idea that we are making up stories. That picture of the red truck proves everything.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I don't have much but I will take a little of what I do have and give it.

First, I would like to commend the Mayor for his swift response to what could have been seen as a devastating blow to his earlier statements that all are welcome in Alexandria. I only have one question, what exactly does the Mayor mean by this statement '"completely, thoroughly and transparently."'

Today on CNN they have been talking about the two men in the Red pick-up truck that had the Nooses on the back.

Second, Thanks to Mr. Love for being astute enough to take a picture so that there is a record of the incident.

Good for you. Have you thought about having them read books by W E B DuBois, Malcolm X and others? Another thing you can do is have your children give you a brief report on what they have watched to help keep the things that they've learned forever at hand.

Here is the link...this is really getting out of hand. Now that the U.S. Attorney in Louisiana put out that he can't see nooses as a "hate crime" he's incited all of these people to do it since they think there are not consequences...

I'm surprised that so many people are surprised by Jena 6. What do you think has changed? I'll tell you, for the past 30 years they found a new way to enslave us. And they damn good at it. We have gone with the flow the thought that if it ain't effecting me it's not important. We won't stick together; will this incident wake us up finally? I've been saying for years nothing has changed only the way in how they do things.... Black men are the prey. Hunting time never stopped they just changed the ways in which they are hunting our fathers, husbands, brothers, sons. We need to stand together and say no more and not just today not tomorrow until they get the message and that my friends will be a very long time.. we have to run the marathon it's called the Human Race and we can't afford to loose this one.. I have a son who is four years old 10 years from now I worry about his future I worry that the hunt will still be on for our black males.. when is enough enough? we are the only ethnic race in a country that we were oppressed in how on earth can we ever be at home?.. we are always feel out of place everyone else fled to come to America for freedom we never had freedom and guess what we still aren't free...

This is very disturbing, the charges against the Jena 6 compared to the charges against the boys arrested with the nooses. They had multiple nooses, an so called unloaded riffle and brass nuckles, however he was only charged with:

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Something is very very wrong here!!

COMMENTARY

Lessons from Jena, La.
By JASON WHITLOCK
Now we love Mychal Bell, the star of the 2006 Jena (La.) High School football team, the teenage boy who has sat in jail since December for his role in a six-on-one beatdown of a fellow student.

Thursday, thousands of us, proud African-Americans, expressed our devotion to and desire to see justice for the “Jena Six,” the half-dozen black students who knocked unconscious, kicked and stomped a white classmate.

Jesse Jackson compared Thursday’s rallies in Jena to the protests and marches that used to take place in cities like Selma, Ala., in the 1960s. Al Sharpton claimed Thursday’s peaceful demonstrations were to highlight racial inequities in the criminal justice system.

Jesse and Al, as they’re prone to do, served a kernel of truth stacked on a mountain of lies.

There are undeniable racial and economic inequities in our criminal justice system, and from afar the “Jena Six” rallies certainly looked and felt like the righteous protests of the 1960s.

But the reality is Thursday’s protests are just another sign that we remain deeply locked in denial about the path we need to travel today for true American liberation, equality and power in the new millennium.

The fact that we waited to love Mychal Bell until after he’d thrown away a Division I football scholarship and nine months of his life is just as heinous as the grossly excessive attempted-murder charges that originally landed him in jail.

Reed Walters, the Jena district attorney, is being accused of racism because he didn’t show Bell compassion when the teenager was brought before the court for the third time on assault charges in a two-year span.

Where was our compassion long before Bell got into this kind of trouble?

That’s the question that needed to be asked in Jena and across the country on Thursday. But it wasn’t asked because everyone has been lied to about what really transpired in the small southern town.

There was no “schoolyard fight” as a result of nooses being hung on a whites-only tree.

Justin Barker, the white victim, was cold-cocked from behind, knocked unconscious and stomped by six black athletes. Barker, luckily, sustained no life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital three hours after the attack.

A black U.S. attorney, Don Washington, investigated the “Jena Six” case and concluded that the attack on Barker had absolutely nothing to do with the noose-hanging incident three months before. The nooses and two off-campus incidents were tied to Barker’s assault by people wanting to gain sympathy for the “Jena Six” in reaction to Walters’ extreme charges of attempted murder.

Much has been written about Bell’s trial, the six-person all-white jury that convicted him of aggravated battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and the clueless public defender who called no witnesses and offered no defense. It is rarely mentioned that no black people responded to the jury summonses and that Bell’s public defender was black.

It’s almost never mentioned that Bell’s absentee father returned from Dallas and re-entered his son’s life only after Bell faced attempted-murder charges. At a bond hearing in August, Bell’s father and a parade of local ministers promised a judge that they would supervise Bell if he was released from prison.

Where were the promises and supervision before any of this?

It’s rarely mentioned that Bell was already on probation for assault when he was accused of participating in Barker’s attack. And it’s never mentioned that white people in the “racist” town of Jena provided Bell support and protected his football career long before Jesse, Al, Bell’s father and all the others took a sincere interest in Mychal Bell.

I am so disgusted, but I do know this...We need to keep supporting especially with prayer. I tell folks… “God don’t play when it comes to protecting his kids”. Sowing what they will later reap...THIS to will come to pass. This action of hanging nooses on their truck just shows WHITE America that rascism is still alive and well and it has just been keeping a low profile is all. Don't be fooled. God bless & keep your head up to where it belongs...on HIM.

You know I live in a small town in Tennessee just yesterday one child was suspended for wearing a Jena 6 T-shirt another sent home for wearing one. I work in the school and by chance one of the mothers is a teacher at my school. I grew up in the 70s so none of this shocks me just makes me sad and sick. We cant stop there should be another rally maybe in Washington because if we do its like giving up. Oh yes when the mother arrived to pick one of the girls up she was also wearing the T-shirt and just so everyone knows both of these mothers and children were white.

THIS WAS NO ACCIDENT!!!!

It was brought to my attention yesterday that on Wednesday my daughter got wind of a secret at her 98 % white school (13 minorities out 463). As she sat in her homeroom class she noticed one of her classmates was overdressed for school. Now this is a young man she says she never speaks too and she decided to ask him why he was dressed-up (for she wanted to know if she forgot about picture day) he lied, said it was dress-up day, she told him he was lying and he said yes it is. She proceeded to ask other students in the class if she had missed something and they all agreed with her that it was not the schools dress-up day.

As class began she whispered to this young man that she was cold, could she wear his jacket and he let her. He must have forgot about the charm that was hanging from on the inside pocket of his jacket. Folks, yes I am here to tell you it was a NOOSE made into a CHARM. She threw the jacket at him and asked him what he was doing with it and if he knew what it meant. I did not hear what she said his response was for my blood was boiling after the point of her telling me that there was a “NOOSE CHARM”. Folks these people are teaching their young children these HORRIBLE acts and it is a CRIME.

I instructed my daughter to go to school and tell the boy either of these lines:
“Our Lord & Savior is coming back real soon to save people like me from people like you.” or “Ask your parents if they love you because they are leading you directly to hell along with them.” (But I’m sure they can use these same lines on people that still condone their children to listen to, watch and participate in the EVIL music, television and computer programs that are made today)

P.S. (he may have been telling the truth) It must have been dress-up day for a special KKK meeting for the young man.

For all you people that vote and to all the Nashvillian’s that recently voted Mr. Dean into office you never know if they have this same NOOSE CHARM hanging from the inside pockets of their jackets (I'm sure this must be some sort of new signal for the KKK just like a gang signal of colors or hand signs). People that don’t vote ONLY cast their faith in the LORD and voting is not an option. And to the folks that still have not woke up to the fact of our country becoming the North American Union ask yourself how President Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and Mexico's President Vincente Fox are writing our brand new Constitution. WAKE UP PEOPLE OUR LORD & SAVIOR SHOULD BE YOUR ONLY LEADER, YOU STILL HAVE TIME.

Always: Love, Peace & Harmony all over the world

Just found out that bond was denied for Mr. Bell. At first I was angry but upon thinking I think it was a good idea to deny the bail. If he is released this child will live in fear for of his life. Right now with all the attention being brought to the town some ignorant person would try to kill him. I am surprised the other kids are safe. I think their families should be relocated or something because the people there are crazy. I grew up in a small town in Louisiania where the whites stayed on one side of the tracks and the blacks on the other, and sadly today it is the same way.

We've got the potential, but we've got to learn HOW TO WIN THE GAME.

I tried to give people a clue, but then some of them got angry with me.

They want to do what FEELS GOOD to them, but that won't help them win.

Hello:
Please remember that every now and then history tries to repeat itself. Therefore, if you remember that today is yesterday you will be able to adjust tomorrow better. We all need to view the world as it truly is, and then adjust ourselves to adapt and overcome. We all need to stand together, band together, and remain together to make sure tomorrow will be a better day!
Let America be America Again

Let America be America Again
Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

(America never was America to me.)

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed--
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

(It never was America to me.)

O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.

(There's never been equality for me,
Nor freedom in this "homeland of the free.")

Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark?
And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?

I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart,
I am the Negro bearing slavery's scars.
I am the red man driven from the land,
I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seek--
And finding only the same old stupid plan
Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.

I am the young man, full of strength and hope,
Tangled in that ancient endless chain
Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land!
Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need!
Of work the men! Of take the pay!
Of owning everything for one's own greed!

I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil.
I am the worker sold to the machine.
I am the Negro, servant to you all.
I am the people, humble, hungry, mean--
Hungry yet today despite the dream.
Beaten yet today--O, Pioneers!
I am the man who never got ahead,
The poorest worker bartered through the years.

Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That's made America the land it has become.
O, I'm the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home--
For I'm the one who left dark Ireland's shore,
And Poland's plain, and England's grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa's strand I came
To build a "homeland of the free."

The free?

Who said the free? Not me?
Surely not me? The millions on relief today?
The millions shot down when we strike?
The millions who have nothing for our pay?
For all the dreams we've dreamed
And all the songs we've sung
And all the hopes we've held
And all the flags we've hung,
The millions who have nothing for our pay--
Except the dream that's almost dead today.

O, let America be America again--
The land that never has been yet--
And yet must be--the land where every man is free.
The land that's mine--the poor man's, Indian's, Negro's, ME--
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.

Sure, call me any ugly name you choose--
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
America!

O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath--
America will be!

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain--
All, all the stretch of these great green states--
And make America again!

On the last line of the above post you said "By the way, Mychal Bell will soon be free, and remember, you heard it first from me!" Do you have some breaking news? If so, it would be something we'd like to hear, as I obtained this from the Alexandria Town Talk, but it's 6 hours old. I really do hope you have later info:

JENA -- Bail was denied today for Mychal Bell, a defendant in the "Jena Six" case that has drawn national attention, according to Bell's father.

A closed-court bond hearing was held today in the LaSalle Parish Courthouse to determine whether bail would be set for Bell, who has been held without bail since being convicted in the beating of student at Jena High School.

Marcus Jones, Mychal Bell's father, told The Town Talk that bail was denied today. He would not comment further.

Judge J.P. Mauffray of LaSalle Parish presided over the bond hearing after an earlier ruling today by a judge from Rapides Parish that Mauffray should not be recused from the case, according to a Bell family member.

Bell, a member of the "Jena Six," has been jailed for more than nine months in connection with a beating incident at Jena High School that has spawned a huge rally Thursday in Jena.

More than 150 members of the media and spectators have been camped outside the courthouse today for a decision on whether bond would be set and whether Bell might be released from jail.

The hearing came after Bell's attorneys today filed a writ claiming that Bell is being held illegally. A hearing on that writ was incorporated into Bell's bond hearing that had been ordered by an appellate court.

In a 10 a.m. hearing today that was closed to the public, 9th Judicial District Court Judge Tom Yeager of Rapides Parish determined that Mauffray will continue to preside over Bell's case, Bell's grandmother, Rosie Simmons, told The Town Talk.

The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal had ordered that a bond hearing be held for Bell by Monday.

Had Yeager ruled that Mauffray should be recused from the case, Yeager would have then presided over the bond hearing.

Bell was the first of the six black Jena High School students known as the Jena Six to face trial in connection with a Dec. 4 incident at the school that left white student Justin Barker unconscious and bleeding.

Bell, along with the others, was charged initially with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit that crime. He was convicted in June of aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy to commit that crime, the highest charge possible after LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters reduced his charges just before the trial.

Mauffray ruled on Sept. 4 that Bell's conviction of conspiracy should have been handled in the juvenile court. However, the judge maintained he had jurisdiction for the battery charge.

Ten days later, the 3rd Circuit ruled that the battery conviction as well should have never been handled in the adult judicial system and tossed the charge back to juvenile court. Walters has said he is considering appealing that decision.

Bell was denied bond on Aug. 24 as Mauffray cited Bell's previous criminal behavior. Prior to his conviction, Bell's bond had been set at $90,000.

During the August bond hearing, it became public that Bell had four past adjudications as a juvenile -- two charges of battery and two of criminal damage to property.

Tens of thousands of people, including the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, rallied in Jena on Thursday on behalf of the Jena Six. A rallied followed in Alexandria, drawing well-known people including rapper-actor Ice Cube and comedian-activist Dick Gregory.

Every time I see the picture and story it makes me smile in the face of those who spearheaded the act. They tried to turn a peaceful gathering for a strong purpose into a riot and were not given a second thought. The officers in Alexandria handled this very well and I'm so proud.

My work staff and I could not make it but we represented very will in Northern Mississippi with our black and keeping track of the events that took place. It is so wonderful to see the strong united front that’s being displayed for justice.

I am a native Mississippian, born and raised in Jackson. I must say Mississippi has come a long way from its roots. However, the reflection of Jena still remains in many small towns. No more than 15 or so years ago, there were certain counties that a Black man did not want to be caught in after dark. The Police was your worst enemy. Men were being arrested on bs charges then were found hanging from their jail cell in which the death was cited as a suicide. Scott county being one of particular. It's now time for the Federal Government to step in and began do a thorough investigation of judicial proceedings of this case and any other like it. How can justice be served, when those making all the judgments are bias and use the law as a means to validate a deeper cause? (I.E. the black robes, police uniforms, and civil service titles have became replacements for the white sheets/cloaks as seen in the disappearance and murder of the 3 Freedom Riders in Philadelphia, MS). Further, I am working on my Masters in Forensic Science Advanced Investigation at the Nebraska Wesleyan University in which I would like to know how conclusive was the evidence in the Jena 6 case especially the shoeprint evidence? There should be experts called to review all the evidence presented in the case. Such as DNA, witness statements, impression evidence, a reconstruction of the crime scene, and the depth of the life threatening injuries reported.

Sorry, but I don't have any news. I wish that I could say for certain that he will be free.

Carolyn-
Jason Whitlock is an instigator, as he is trying to make a career out of being controversial. It did not work for Armstrong Williams and it won't work for him. We should really ignore people like him because he's not accomplishing anything with his rhetoric. He is a deterrant in our cause. We could sit down and interpret these events in 100 different ways. The fact of the matter is we know it's wrong for this boy to still be in jail for a fight. No matter how they cut the story. Whitlock is one of these people that slows down a movement of any positive momentum by attracting our attention and forcing us to consider his point of view and question what we know is right. I've begun to ignore him and I think we need to turn our back to his rhetoric much like he has turned his back to us. If he's so concerned about the legitimacy of our issues then he could have just as easily traveled to Jena with his own sign and rallied support for his cause. He can actually still do that but Whitlock is about lipservice-not community service.

Blackman-I really respect your posts. (Interesting debate with I'm embarrassed by you-or should I say ridiculous);)

I was just about to post this info.

Hmph, they still think it's a game huh????

I don't believe they think it's a game, I believe, that they were trying to incite some kind of violent act to show people that the thousands who came to show support for the Jena 6 were there to start the violence. Remember one of those boys said he belonged to the KKK, maybe it was their way of instigating trouble so that they would be able to say, "See we told you so."

I had to change the channel but apparently some member of the KKK has posted a statement stating they will pass out the address and phone numbers of the Jena6 families is justice isn't rendered and will see to it that they deliver justice to these families.

I knew we were trying to start another civil rights movement but I tell you, my obvious naiveness did not expect that we actually relive the entire thing fully equipped with the KKK and the lynchings! Goodness. We must stand strong I tell you and more importantly, nourish our children with the knowledge they will need to sustain in the world.

Hello family. This is truly a time to stand up and be accounted for! It's time to seperate the "choosen" from the "called", because the time is NOW! We as a people as well as a nation, can no longer sit by idle and allow these kinds of acts to take place & go un-noticed & un-punished. On that note, I would also like to make mention of the equally tragic situation of the young Black woman from West Virginia. This young sister was held captive, tortured, raped, and made to eat animal watse. She was held for over a week in an abandoned trailer by 6(?) white people. To make the matter even worse, she was referred to repeatedly as "nigger" during her time of abuse. The young woman's mother has said that her daughter wakes up in the middle of the night screaming out for her "mommy". People I urge you all to follow up with this case, this is just crazy!!! I just want to leave us with a little something to think on... As we know, this country is currently still in celebration of the 400 years of America/Jamestown 2007. Okay well Biblically speaking, 40/400 are numbers or periods with specific implications. The numbers represent generations and also periods of great testing. With that said, just know it's no coincidence that ALL these "cases" have popped off in just THIS year alone ( Jena, Imus, etc.) I can even reference the stuff that is going on with our government----the wool is being removed and the truth is coming out, slowly but surely. It's no coincidence that many of us are calling this era an ironic reminder of the 60's. All I'm saying is lets be more aware and open our eyes family. The time is arriving for those that are "choosen" to lead to make their presence known & voices heard!!! It's now or never, all or nothing y'all. Much Love & Respect to everyone involved in this "21st revolution". Take care, stay focused and GOD Bless!

This was posted at CourtTV and CNN just announced this as well:

Racism and hate at its best. I do hope these families are given protection.

As thousands of people rallied in Jena, La., for six black youths charged with assaulting a white classmate, the FBI was monitoring a neo-Nazi activist in Roanoke who posted their names and addresses on a Web site that proclaimed: "Lynch the Jena 6."

William A. White also listed some of the defendants' telephone numbers, urging his readers to "Get in touch, and let them know justice is coming."

On his Web site, White complained of "agitators" who were demanding acquittals.

A posting Thursday afternoon that contained contact information for the six youths was headlined: "Addresses of Jena 6 N-----s; In case anyone wants to deliver justice."

In a second item, White was quoted as saying: "If these n------s are released or acquitted, we will find out where they live and make sure that white activists and white citizens in Louisiana know it ... in order to find someone willing to deliver justice."

Jena 6 Nigger To Be Caged As A Negro Beast
Judge Orders No Release As Prosecutors Appeal To Louisiana Supreme Court

Jena, Lousiana -- Mychal Bell, the Jena 6 nigger convicted as an adult of aggravated battery, will not be released from prison during the multi-year period needed to take his case to the Louisiana Supreme Court, a Louisiana judge ruled today.
Prosecutors in the Jena 6 case are intending to appeal a decision from an Appeals Court saying Bell had to be tried as a juvenile.

"At this point in time, it appears the justice system is continuing to function in Louisiana," ANSWP Commander Bill White stated today, "But all of these niggers should know that if they are able to use the threat of violence and insurrection to overturn a lawful court decision that they will not be able to stop justice from being done."

CNN ran a story on White's remarks earlier today and White gave the news network an interview today for a segment to run tonight at 10 PM. CNN is "afraid" to broadcast White's comments live on the air because of the incendiary effect they may have.

"Also on Friday, the FBI said it was looking into an online posting by a neo-Nazi white supremacist group that published the home addresses of all six of the African-American teenagers, as well as the phone numbers of some. The group said on its Web site it is calling on followers to 'let them know justice is coming.'"

White is not concerned about legal action against him or the ANSWP at this time.

Jena. Louisiana -- The American National Socialist Workers Party anxiously awaits the release of the Jena 6 niggers, responsbile for an unprovoked assault on a white high student, so the six can face true justice.
"If these niggers are released or acquitted, we will find out where they live and make sure that white activists and white citizens in Louisiana know it," ANSWP Commander Bill White stated today, "We'll mail directions to their homes to every white man in Louisiana if we have to in order to find someone willing to deliver justice."

The six niggers involved in the crime are currently being held pending trial on felony charges of assault.

Nigger agitators across the country, financed and supported by Jewish and homosexual communists like the leaders of the Southern Poverty Law Center, have organized rallies to demand the niggers involved in the assault be acquitted of their crimes.

"Those niggers are much better off in the hands of the justice system than they are in the hands of the white citizenry of this nation," ANSWP Commander Bill White stated, "And we intend to make sure they know that."

Jena Rally Sparks White Supremacist Rage, Lynching Threat
Posted in White Supremacist, Neo-Nazi, Hate Groups by Mark Potok on September 20, 2007

Print This Post
As tens of thousands of people were preparing to make their way to Jena, La., for today’s anti-racism rally, white supremacists were burning up the Internet with furious denunciations, bloody predictions, promises of future violence, and calls for lynching.

“The best crowd control for such a situation would be a squad of men armed with full automatics and preferably a machine gun as well,” is how one person put it on the Web forum hosted by the neo-Nazi Vanguard News Network. Added another hopeful VNN poster: “I’m not really that angry at the nogs [a recent variation on an ancient racial slur] — they are just soldiers in an undeclared race war. But any white that’s in that support rally I would like to … have them machine-gunned.”

As the rally began to unfold this morning, it became clear that it would attract huge numbers of people, perhaps even the 40,000 that some organizers had predicted. They came to protest the case of the “Jena 6,” black youths who were charged with serious crimes for an attack on a white youth not long after white teens who had targeted blacks were let off with a slap on the wrist. White supremacists reacted with a strange mixture of anger and admiration for the organizing behind the rally.

But the dominant response was violent rage. “I think a group of White men with AK rifles loaded with high capacity magazines should close in on the troop of howler monkeys from all sides and compress them into a tight group, and then White men in the buildings on both sides of the shitskinned hominids shall throw Molotov cocktails from above to cleanse the nigs by fire,” wrote “NS Cat” on VNN. Another poster fantasized about a terrorist attack in Jena today: “Wouldn’t that be sweet? Gosh darn, wouldn’t that be sweet? Good LORD wouldn’t THAT be SWeeeeEET? Boom, Boom, no more Coon! Well? A White man can dream can’t he?”

“If these blacks want a race war,” added a poster on Stormfront, another white supremacist Web forum, “they will get one. Bring it on.”

In Roanoke, Va., an especially virulent purveyor of race hate, neo-Nazi Bill White, this afternoon posted the home addresses and phone numbers of five of the six black youths who make up the Jena 6 under this headline: “Addresses of Jena 6 Niggers: In Case Anyone Wants to Deliver Justice.” White, the leader of the American National Socialist Workers Party, suggests that readers “get in touch and let them know justice is coming.” Another White posting on the matter doesn’t hold anything at all back: “Lynch the Jena 6.”

Robert Moore (right), a well-known neo-Nazi leader from Baton Rouge, La., apparently abandoned plans he had discussed on Stormfront Wednesday to protest the Jena rally, possibly while carrying guns. Instead, he wrote later, “If they DO start rioting and looting and burning and raze the town to the ground, White Pride Construction will be there the next day to help them rebuild.” In fact, Moore’s company, started in 2005, has done a great deal of post-Katrina rebuilding on the Gulf Coast — a truly remarkable thing, given that its name includes a widely known racist slogan.

I heard on NPR (sometimes I actually turn the dial during LL&L) that some sort of hate group has posted on their website directions to the 5 kids out on bail with instructions to lynch them. What a bunch of (in the interest of class, I'll edit out the way I originally ended this sentence, but suffice it to say the adjective start with an f and the noun started with a p). Whoever posted the directions obviously knows where they are - why don't they have the balls to try it themselves? Typical hate monger cowardice.

I also heard on LL&L that Mr. Baisden is willing and able to relocate the boys' families. I'll pray it doesn't have to happen, but thank God that his generosity can partially shield those poor brave families.

Honestly I do not believe that the families of Jena 6 will have any problem with relocating. I read an article earlier today - I'll try to locate it again - but had Mychal Bell been released today his mom said they cannot and will not stay there. Unfortunatley whatever her plans were are thwarted due to his bail being denied. These kids still have to finish school and I cannot imagine them wanting to return to Jena High.

Yes there is an article I posted above a few more someone else posted a couple of pages back. While what you say may be true (about the cowardice) but hopefully noone will take him up on it. I AM concerned for the families and do hope they are afforded protection.

The Federal Govt can't seem to call this a HATE CRIME -- but that can continue to allow the nooses, KKK and this NAZI nonsense to continue to go on. What's it gonna take to get Mychal Bell out of jail. We have a peaceful demonstration showing that OUR people can come together. Now these 6 young men and their families are being blatantly threatened and NOTHING is being done. I'm sitting here listening on Jasiri X and every word in that song is so true. I am so tired of all the racism we have to put up with. Where are all those "entertainers/celebrities" that have forums where they can use their voices to speak about the injustice that's going on? As Michael Baisden says "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"!!!!

The noose incident was terrible, but it is getting worse! The Neo Nazi Group has posted the addresses and phone numbers of the Jena six. We marched but they still need us. I am a college student and single parent and I have very little time and money but my heart and soul is involved in this and I am willing to anything in my power to help and I pray that we continue to come together to make changes for all who are treated unfairly. ( I have been following the news and CNN has been following the story very well, please stay informed on what’s happening, God Bless!)

Two arrested in noose incident near Jena, Louisiana

Mr. Baisden

When I was 17 I was convicted of selling a nickel bag of pot. I served 15 months in jail. The prosecutor wanted to try me as an adult. That was before decriminalization. The sentence would have been twenty to forty. No one marched for me because I was the wrong color for that kind of thing. It is odd because most of the people that I hung with, actually most of the people in my neighborhood, were black. And as it was then (in the late sixties) so it is now Mr. Baisden. You only get fired up when blacks are being shit on. When you talk about us you really mean us blacks; justus. And it is because, if you take a long hard look at yourself, you have become that which you hate, a racist.

I am a Muslim. My wife is from Africa. Many in her family would be considered black if they were here, in her country it does not matter. However neither her or I agree with Farrakhan 99.5% of the time, like you proudly said you do on your radio show today. Geez, he preached race hate for decades until he was faced with death. Now he pays lip service to coming together as a people. He like many other Muslims, like many Christians, and Jews and every other religious bent on earth are mostly hypocrites, there are not chosen to be truthful therefore they can not even if they try. So what is the overarching characteristic of your oneness with him Mr. Baisden - yes it is your blackness. Particulars crumble like dust when faced with universals. You are confusing a particular with a universal. Like my grandmamma used to say, " Right is right and wrong is nobody". Get the point!

Kyra was really rolling with you today until she asked the objective question for her listening/ viewing audience - why should mychal bell be treated like a martyr when he is a criminal. You promptly cut her off ala Sean hannity style. Nice. I suppose all you folks think that the mob should rule and to hell with law. Oh I hate the noose trick but if the law does not provide for a remedy then what can the prosecutor do. I think that six guys (many of them probably bigger than most men) beating up on a white kid probably simply because he is white is a hate crime. But wait the ones doing the beating heard him say the N word. Hmmmm. That seems to be the ultimate defense. Even if they heard it does that give six the right to beat one. I wouldn't describe six on one as a simple fight. That really does sound dangerous. And what about Sharpton? Who ran to the defense of the Duke boys? Did Sharpton ever apologize for actually demanding that they be convicted expeditiously without e!
ven hearing all the evidence. The girl was a skank, shake down artist. (There was another incident. Oh yea it was Do run run, do u wanna, ahh mary wanna, ahhhh, oh, I have it Tawana Brawley! Wow.

So that is Sharpton's M.O. Tell the government and or the courts what to do? Incite people and then use the implied threat to get your way. It is easy to manipulate blacks like that, using their hatred of and experiences with certain whites that wronged them in the past and in some instances still wrong them. They are inclined to believe. There is history to base it on. But when someone pushes that button because they hate whites themselves and are determined to get even that is evil. Farrakhan did it for decades. There was another incident. There was another very weird experience concerning Sharpton but I have had enough. The other experience was just too weird for words. But you keep hanging with your bros even if it leads you to hell I am sure that the savior from the sky (well I forget exactly how you described him) will give a lot of consideration to the color defense no matter who uses it.

These 2 people trying to start some mess after almost everyone is gone. It just goes to show that inequality and injustice in this country is still alive and kicking in this day and age. What gets me more is that on CNN after the special Judgment in Jena ran again they broke this story of a NEO Nazi group that posted the names and addresses of the Jena6 and saying that they better not be acquited or charges dropped. They are coming out of the woodworks slowly but surely. This is the time that we need to finally get together even tightier to block the nay sayers and the people that want to keep us from coming together and staying together as a positive front. So what are we going to do now? I think it is a great idea to hold the strike not for a day or two but for as long as it takes for it to hurt, let them know that we are serious and we aren't going to allow for these injust acts to go on anymore.

Because white children were not punished as harshly, this was a school fight, the white boy was not beaten to near death because he went a event that same night. This should have been handled by the school not by the legal system and not by placing young boys into an adult prison for a school fight.

I dont know if I am suppose to be posting on here I for the most part enjoy The Michael Baisden show, however last week the guy that sits with him made a half way racists remark and I feel as he is racists. when Michael said he was going to have some missing kids on his web site, the side kick said:"oh is it going to be some white kids"? It doesnt matter what color, you know you dont like racisism, but what is that?

I do not condone nor do I participate in any type of racisism, it was insulting to the good white people of our community what happened with this noose hanging from a truck, It should be punished. in all fairness, to the gun in vehicles, when I was in high school, everyone that had trucks, had a gun rack in the back glass of the truck, with a riffle of some sort. Southern thing I guess.
Now with that being said, the guy that was dressed up in the KKK outfit was not necessary either, it was offensive to most of us. (I am white) that was just as bad as the white kids hanging the noose. while trying to make a point I guess, it could have also provoked a situation with the racisits that were there. I am glad it was for the most part peaceful, we are just regular people, I think Mychal Bell should not have gotten jail at all, and yes, the white kids should have been suspended, from what I understand about what happened under that tree, was there were white kids and black kids under that tree and the asking if he could sit under the tree happened in the gym later as a joke. (What I heard) anyway, whatever the case, no one should have gone to jail at all. I do feel like the DA is making a major case out of this.
I have a sister married to a black man and I have 4 black nieces. I love them with all my heart, It just doesnt matter to me what they look like.
I dont want any hate mail, I just wanted to let you know what I thought as an average, Well Normal person down here. Good look'n out & GOD Bless you sister! I whole-heartedly agree with you. It made me feel a lil' better to see your post after I came across the posts made on an earlier page by " Frank" ( an obviously, deeply biased & clueless white male front'n behind his "I'm a Muslim with a African wife"...statement) and then the other placed by "Peacefulbliss" of Louisiana. Much like the previous person, this woman's comments also reflected her lack of genuine understanding about this matter. I just find it so extremely frustrating that every & any time people of color(s) get together to speak out and make awareness of an injustice, we get labled Racist; Militant; Prejudice; etc. It's amazing to me how "the powers that be" can set things in motion, create these unfair institutions, write up & enforce bias legislature-----but when the very people that are being affected and targeted by these hateful things stand up and speak up, somehow WE end up getting the bad press and backlash for it!! This is precisely why "Jena" happened and other "Jena's" (ie: Selma, Birmingham,Topeka,Little Rock, need I go one...) happened. Anytime you have a governing body that designs a system to benefit themselves while keeping "others" down in the process, there's a revolt that should be expected! People, ALL people are divine creations by the Divine Creator. Created to dwell here together for a common purpose that HE instilled within each and everyone of us. Therefore anytime a "group" of people are singled out and made to feel somewhat less than another and see them succeed while they themselves seem doomed for failure----revolt & protest are logical reactions & responses! No humanbeing was designed to be "ruled" or "surpressed" by another, it's that simple! When a cultural and/or group of people are constantly stepped on and held back by another culture and/or group by violence & discrimination---it's only NATURAL (human nature) for that oppressed group and/or culture to react with the very model that has been placed before them! Please pardon my many uses of the exclamation point, but I have tried to hold my peace and my cool throughout this entire situation; however after that powerful march of protest, then to deal with the news media and the recent incidents of ignorance, then combining that all with the two posts I referrenced above---it's truly enough to make one want to scream. I really get the significance of expressions like "being in someone else' shoes", or "it's a Black Thang"...because you truly have to "walk that mile" on the path they took (and continue to take everyday) in order to really grasp the mentally behind the movement. When we say that it's not about a black or white thing, that's true. However it gets played out that way because many times throughout history (especially the history of THIS nation), it was the people of Afro-American decent who stood up and fought back, not just for Black people but for ALL people of this country. And as a result that paved the way for every single "movement" of a minority labled group there after (ie: native Americans, Women's Lib. Movement, Hispanic Americans, Gay Right Activists, etc). So this nonsense about Michael Baisden and others who support this case & this "new" movement being racists---GIVE ME A BREAK!

The last thing(s) I want to add in regards to those posts , for the guy "Frank", you made an unequal comparison when talking about your prior arrest. You clearly did something that broke the law, but last time I checked having a high school fight was NOT illegal. Look no disrespect but those marches that you claim weren't done for you or people like you--- oh yes they were, they were just labled "crusades", "slave auctions", "slave trades", "KKK meetings", "Grandfather clauses/Poll taxes", "Jim Crow" and last but not least "The Constitution". Trust me sir, you don't want to get me started on this! (and by the way, Michael Baisden DID NOT cut off the reporter in response to the question about M.Bell's criminal record, he clearly answered the question and also added that THIS case was just that-- a seperate case. Also the "Saviour from the sky" comment--again you're mis quoting, what was said and has been said many times before this case, was that WE as a people & community need to stand up and speak up for these injustices because WE'RE the ones to do it. He's absolutely correct too, look I don't know what you study from your professed "religion" but my Spirtual Faith teaches when studying the Holy Scriptures in the book of Genesis, The Most High's plan for creating mankind is clearly laid out-"Dominion", which means establishing the Kingdom of GOD right here on earth. If further clarification is needed turn over to Matthew and study the opening lines of the Lord's Prayer. As for the Al Sharpton comments...as a native NY'er I could be here all day debating over past cases, but I won't because you like many others are simply placed as distractions and nay-sayers from the overall goal set to be accomplished)

And to the "Peaceful..." woman in Louisiana, trying to make a connection with this matter to the Rodney King matter, just further establishes my point of how out of touch you are with the REAL issue. That was a completely different situation, from a different time in the social climate of America. Am I condonning what was done?--NO, but like I said earlier, it's about the conditions set in place, leaving people with no other choice but to react from the place of hurt & frustration they have inside. And just a footnote here, the media portrayed that TOO the way they wanted because there were also "other" people who took part in the aftermath of that verdict.

Glad it was peaceful but was worried, I do remember the Rodney King verdict when it was handed out and all heck broke loose. with tempers flaring and bunch of people, one would worry.

This is what a lot of people thought was going to happen when everybody came down, RIOT!!. Believe me when i say, there was so many folks waiting to see and read about something going down, but it didn't happen.:) It was all love and respect. One of them HATE GROUPS sent them young men out there to get it started. They KNEW that somebody was going to get at them and beat them down or kill them, but it didn't happen. They was trying to sacrifice them youngster to make us look bad to the world, but it didn't happen, and now they are really pissed off. Folks don't be fooled on thinking that they won't sacrifice their kids to get it going just to prove a point..

Mr.

Now Frank,

You are trying to make a point with no veracity. No one is not saying the boys should not be punished for the fight if they were participants. It is the verdicts that are appalling when you see the extreme difference in the charges to Blacks and Whites in this town of Jena. This is not a one time occurrence. Secondly, selling drugs is of no comparison. You were breaking the law when you started and just got caught. That is the risk you take in that line of business. I guess you have never truly experienced race related issues because in Africa being Black does not mean you the same as a whole. Racism does exist in Africa and it is not White on Black. It is Black on Black. And, to be thought of a Black in some places in Africa is just like being considered scum. Ask your wife about the Genocides which are still ongoing today. You are killed because of your lineage which classifies who you are in that society. There are issues that run deep in Africa, but are not all the White Man's fault. Somethings we do to one another unfortunately as with any race. However, no one should be discriminated against based on race, creed, color, sex, or social status. Unfortunately, stratification is what divides this nation. People need to realize we live in a class society. It's still a battle between the Bourgieous & the Proletarians. Bush isn't President for no reason. It's more so who will benefit from it as a whole and it's not the little people. Bush does not need the President's salary. That's like pennies to him. He is well invested from helping others stay vested......

I thought that the reason nothing could be done to the white students for hanging a noose from the tree was because it wasn't breaking a Louisiana law. How is it then that the driver of the "noose truck" got arrested?

If that was a legitimate arrest or even a notable detainment, the white students would have been subject to the same.

I've written that Mr. Whites Racist site be taken down and encourage you to do the same (read article below). His site is www.overthrow.com!!!

Roanoke neo-Nazi condemns Jena Six
William A. White posted the youths' addresses on a Web site that calls for lynching the group.
By Laurence Hammack

As thousands of people rallied in Jena, La., for six black youths charged with assaulting a white classmate, the FBI was monitoring a neo-Nazi activist in Roanoke who posted their names and addresses on a Web site that proclaimed: "Lynch the Jena 6."

William A. White also listed some of the defendants' telephone numbers, urging his readers to "Get in touch, and let them know justice is coming."

The leader of a Roanoke-based white supremacy group, White has a penchant for inserting inflammatory rhetoric into racially charged incidents that attract national attention, as the Jena Six case has done this week.

"He has done this kind of thing routinely, but probably never in such an outrageous way as this," said Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups.

"It's appalling, but it's not surprising."

An FBI official said the agency is aware of White's posting.

"The FBI reviews information provided for possible violations under our jurisdiction, and would seek a prosecutive opinion at the appropriate time," said Sheila Thorne, a special agent with the agency's New Orleans division.

The review came as protesters gathered Thursday in Jena, the site of racial unrest since last summer. After a black student asked the school for permission to sit under a tree where white students traditionally gathered, three nooses were found hanging from the tree. Months later, the Jena Six were charged with beating a white student.

White, commander of the American National Socialist Workers Party, could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Earlier this year, White seemed unconcerned about reports that the FBI was investigating death threats against Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts, whose phone number White posted online during a controversy over a Pitts column about black-on-white crime.

"Law enforcement doesn't care," White told a McClatchy-Tribune reporter. "We have a controversy like this about every two or three months. They don't waste their time contacting me anymore."

Potok said attorneys with the Southern Poverty Law Center were researching whether the language on Overthrow.com could amount to a criminal charge, either as a hate crime or as some form of inciting violence.

"It's a close call," he said.

Niggers Upset At Jena 6 Posting
FBI, SPLC "Researching" If They Can Pursue Us Crimnally

Discuss this story in the forum
Roanoke Times

Roanoke, Virginia -- [Bill: I don't think what I've said is any different than when nig_ers say "if the courts don't do what we want, we will riot". If the justice system fails -- and it has not yet failed -- then the Jena 6 should be drug from their homes and lynched. White citizens don't have jails and prisons and fancy means of punishing miscreant niggers -- and if the niggers are able to force the courts through threats of violence and protest not to prosecute a group of nigger criminals involved in racial violence, white people have to remove that justice system and seek justice themselves.]

I don't usually advocate extra-legal activities, but if the legal system fails in the Jena 6 case -- which it has not yet done -- this issue is too fundamental and too important for white people not to act.

Sorry if someone doesn't like that -- but I don't care and won't retreat from that position.

Also, the Roanoke Times called at 6:30 PM from a number that didn't pick up when I tried to call it back, so they weren't really looking for comment.

I am not out of reality babe. I live right here.
when you can be here and not hear about this on the radio, which is one sided. there is always more than ONE side, Either way I was raised in an all white school until I was 14. went to a primarily black or mixedd school. this was in the 1980's when Judge nauman Scott had the deseg order down here. Remember the Buckeye 3? (no you are too young), Look I am sorry that Slavery happened. BUt in the south Women was treated as badly as Blacks.
Anyway, Most of yall hear things and some isnt even true. But when its a cause Rev. Jessie Rev. Al, (Which I like by the way), get on the ban wagon just because it can be a big hoo rah.
Just for the fun of it, What if this was a black kid, and six white boys kicked the boy as such? and they were tried as adults? What do you think then would Rev Jessie, (which is such a hippocrit) he has not been a great person and done immoral things, anyway without that, how would america react to it? Well things such as that happens all of the time, its not just the black people it is a if you arent rich and have a famous name its you are no one. So this just happens to be a bad thing. I am not a rich person, I would think that if I did something like that they would throw away the key.
I really think that the 16 yr old Black kid in jail for 10 yrs for consentual sex should be getting the attention just like this case and it didnt happen here in Louisiana. I dont know where it happened I think Atlanta, Some of you guys should help out this guy, he should lose his life either. Get a fleet of busses and GO< GO...
I am Peaceful... But until you live in a neighorhood like Jena, and most people are good, then you can sit and say that everyone here is bad.

**This post was misplaced, it was sent as a comment/reply to Blue Butterfly**

We must be vigilant as to the results of the arrest of the individuals in the RED truck. We have advised the World of our awareness of the unjust manner inwhich we (Black People) are treated. Therefore, we must monitor this situation very close and demand that the justice be dealt in accordance to the actions(crime).
No slap on the wrist type of punishment, as was issued to the prior offenders of the same act.

We can no longer stand back and be quiet, because the World have seen our power and we must continue to flex it. All is well with the Mayor of Alexandria for expressing his dismay verbally, but now show us action that will possibly deter another for doing the same in the future.

No sleeping on this matter; We should monitor the status of this arrest on a regular basis. Attend court hearings, bail hearing etc.

Our presence should be felt everytime the offenders make a move. Let's not drop the ball on this situation. Pressure will be the only solution to this matter and we must contact our local elected officials and demand that they get involve and seek justice for us all. We must get out and VOTE for individuals that care about our lives.

Not only should they be arrested for the noose, but they should be
charged with trying to start a riot, and I also received news that
two other white guys got arrested in Alexandra Louisiana for riding
on with nooses in their pick-up truck. To me it looks like the majority
of the whites seem to take the noose as a joke.

Please read this article. I leave in North Carolina and I saw on the news that nooses were hung at a school here.

Four nooses found at Andrews High
09/22/2007 05:29 PM
By: Stephanie Stilwell

School Incident
News 14's Stephanie Stilwell has more as police remove four nooses from around Andrews High School.

HIGH POINT -- Scholars call it a symbol that reflects a shameful period in our nation's history. Friday, High Point police removed four nooses hung from different spots around Andrews High School.

“To get to a situation in 2007 where people can feel like this as a prank is acceptable, that tells us a lot about how much progress we've made and how much progress we've got to continue to work on,” Claude Barnes, a political science professor at North Carolina A&T said.

That situation is four nooses hung from the flag pole and other locations at the High Point school...“And so the symbol here of a noose is very, very disturbing whether it was a joke or prank or whatever; whether this was perpetrated by whites, blacks, or whoever, it's not funny,” Barnes said, “because it takes us back to a tragic and very shameful period is our nation’s history.”

Guilford county school board officials agree. “Anytime you have something like that you take it very seriously and I think that the school board and the police are taking this as a very serious kind of thing,” Walter Childs, Guilford County School Board member said.

The incident happened at Andrews High School in High Point. Childs says if the offender is indeed a student, school officials would deliver their punishment, while the police would look at criminal charges. And depending on what motivated the incident, federal charges could also be included.

“We should use it as a time to educate, to talk about it, to have dialogue about what this means and this is good but at the same time we should also render our just punishments,” Barnes said.

Agents at the F.B.I. said they are aware of the incident and have not initiated an investigation, but are watching it closely.

“If you look at the history of the civil rights movements, it tends to ebb and flow,” Barnes said, “And sometimes we get complacent so on a positive side it may shake some of us out of our complacency and get us more involved in continuing to see a need to press for civil rights and human rights.”

It frustrates me to no end that a white person's favorite excuse for anything is ignorance. They say that hanging the nooses in Jena was a prank and were hung because of their upcoming games with the Cowboys. I guess this school in Highpoint, North Carolina is playing the Cowboys also….

i am a white guy who listens to this radio show and honestly im appalled by some of the responses that ive read here.

i tend to take the nooses as a joke, because they are pathetic behavior perpetrated by pathetic individuals. just like you can't characterize the entirety of black America from the actions of a few, you can't do the same to white America either. these people are idiots who have ZERO support amongst anyone with a brain- regardless of what color skin you have. sure, there are white idiots in this world who are evil people, but they do not represent my family or my friends. i think part of the problem is that the better part of white America gets no credit from a lot of black people. you have to remember that it was not only blacks who marched for equality and without the support of sympathetic whites it would have been much more violent a process. white people are not all racist, nor do we wake up every morning asking ourselves, "who can i oppress today?". for all the inherent racism of our society that stacks life in my favor, i can honestly say that im a poor white man. for all the cops who supposedly look out for my interests, i can honestly say that ive been harassed by the police and even treated unfairly (in my opinion) on occasion. im sure there are times when i was given the benefit of the doubt when i might have otherwise been punished, but these things are not necessarily always racial issues.

i have never in my life been racist purposely. i try very hard to be open and honest with every person i meet and treat them all with respect. sometimes, it seems to me that the judgement is coming from the other side, but i turn the other cheek.

i just wish that you all would take this into account before you start typing out how you want to shoot at me because you think im some evil human being. isnt that acting in the very way that you despise?

Michael - we are confused!we are with you - but

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i love you to death and i appreciate all that you are doing - but we're confused. We are ready to march for every state and every cause....but folks are starting organizations to help others. you under estimated people attending the march.....just like you dont have faith that people ...our people have big hearts and are doing things to help others. you are judging us/us blacks and that's not right. i was on this Jena 6 kick last year....i wore a tee shirt to the gym and every where and folks were like, " what is Jena 6".....I did not and have not made a profit, but folks dont know what to do now. if you want us to donate to a housing fund to help the families we will, if you want us to pull money from different organizations to help the families and give them money we will - but dont threaten your listeners - we need advice not to be schooled, because Mike as you remember, many of us were on this long before you were and were concerned - but because we dont sit behind a microphone and we are not on the talk show....no one wants to listen to us. so please.....dont scold us....allow us to know what you want to do. you cant judge folks for starting organizations - hell, many of us have taken the lead and are making changes in the city we live in. i have defended you a lot over the weekend - people are saying you are making this about you.....i am born on the same day as you so i know how us Cancers are - we are concerned and care...but Mike.....have more faith in your listeners....we all have big hearts and are concerned. you are not being fair and judging....once again, us blacks who adore you.

You know, I come from a small town in Georgia. I've seen the racism and I've been subjected to it as well. My husband and I left that town because of it. Now we have two children, 9 and 7 who have been following the progress of the Jena 6 case and asking us, why?

My husband is black/native american and I am white/native american. We are both proud of each heritage we give to our children. What we teach them of our past bases around the different cultures. To them, all of those cultures coming together are beautiful because it's how and why they are here today.

To answer their question of why...my husband and I simply told them.
Hate and stupidity are as much a part of this world as love and knowledge. People who think like that will never change but you, as a person, can break away from those who are like that and let them know that you will not tolerate being treated unfairly.

Hate brings hate. We have taught our children not to hate. Reguardless of race, religeon or personal morals. To hate someone gives them power over you. To hate an entire race because of the immoral acts of the past or for those of the present is an ongoing mistake that we as the human race have not learned from. Every nation, past and present have dealt with the same injustices that America is today. The cycle hasnt broken.

We've taught our children to love or dislike people for who they are, nothing more, nothing less.

We, my husband and I, not those in our families who by the way, are racist decided to break the cycle of our families and begin anew. I'm tired of people using the excuse of "It's how I was raised". That has nothing to do with it. It's how you choose to be.

My 9 year old came home one day and asked me, "Momma, what race am I?"
I asked her why she wanted to know. Another child from her school had asked her. My reply to her was "Baby, you are of the human race. Tell them that."
