Obama Demands Fairness in Jena 6 Case
Senator Barack Obama made the following statement today in response to the Jena 6 case.
"When nooses are being hung in high schools in the 21st century, it’s a tragedy. It shows that we still have a lot of work to do as a nation to heal our racial tensions. This isn’t just Jena’s problem; it’s America’s problem."
"There are a number of signs that the system is not working in this case. It’s a problem when criminal charges are brought against some students for fighting, but not others. It’s a problem when a public defender doesn’t call any witnesses. And it’s a problem when a prosecutor decides to try teenagers as adults for a school fight, a charge that could leave them in jail for the majority of their lives. That is why I join my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus in calling on the judge to consider all the relevant factors and calling on the District Attorney to drop the excessive charges brought in this case. And I, along with other members of the CBC, will continue to monitor this case closely."
"Going forward, we have to fix our criminal justice system. Whether it’s Jena 6 or Genarlow Wilson, it’s long past time for us to admit that we have more work to do to ensure that our criminal justice system is fair. We must ensure that both victims and defendants can receive equal justice under the law, regardless of race, wealth, or other circumstances."

Obama is who I am voting for, I made up my mind some time ago. However I wanted to hear what he had to say about the situation in Jena, and I am happy that he has stepped up to the plate. Myself along with many other people I know did not know about this until Michael bought it out, the seed that Michael has planted in me I am planting it in others by posting information on www.myspace.com/sistersandbrothersunited.org. We all need to come together and wake up. I am a young African American women and I have been promoting voter registration and the need for unity amongst our people. It is the job of all of us to Love and Protect our People. Peace.

What can we do to make sure; Black People get Fair Trails, and Competant Legal Representation:
In short; Where are the Black Lawyers Trying to Fix this Corrupt Systems? Personally, I'd like to talk with a Constitutional one, but there are None
Why cant this issue be up for a vote? This happens in every city, town, or local in the USA.
Why cant we Black People make up a Charity so People can Get Legal Representation. Maybe instead of subscribing to Jet or Ebony; we could commit 50$ a year to cause of Discrimination against or even by other Black People. Let donate 1/2 of the money; that came from the Million Man March.
Lets get contributors like Oprah, Bill Cosby, Ms. Obama, or any Black Person with money; to throw in some in the Pot, cause there is No way for People to Fight Discrimination Without a Lawyer. Thats why the fired those 6 lawyers who worked for the Department of Justice. Even they Don't Comply with the rules - No Black Head Attorneys' on Staff, what kind of frackenacklebull is dat
Why cant WE The People have Equal Laws; because We dont have equal standing with the Courts, Judges, Lawyers, Governer's President etc.
I am a single mother of 2 with one in college; and I'll pledge the 1st $100.00 for Lawyers who will only Represent People with Discrimination Against Black or darker colored People such as myself.

I have been waiting for one to make a stand. Glad it was Obama first. He's got my vote. Still want to see him in Jena. I have grown sick of all the crooked political croonies in office in the last few years. And the injustice in Jena is just un-freakin-believable, What concerns me more is that the Gov of Lousiana is sitting on her hand again just like with New Orleans. Maybe if we are really lucky, we maybe able to balance things some for everybody in the next few years. And this from a 49 year old white man, how bout that!

Dear Senator Barack Obama I am glad that you are speaking out against this injustice but you need to be more vocal in the media about what is going on in Jena. As a cadinate for the US Presidency and as a Black Man in the US I personally demand more from you. As a mother of 2 Black boys I teach them to speak up for their rights and let people know that you can not do anything to them and that they will not just take it without questions. We have far to many negative things going on in our own race/culture but when something like this happens to 6 young black men I get mad at our leaders for allowing this to happen. Why have the President not spoken out about this injustice and why as a Presidential hopeful have you not demanded the president to speak out on this issue. It is funny how he can demand that we stay and fight in a country that don't want us there but he can not speak out on the injustice of these 6 young black men who is and have been railroaded by this town. This topic should be on every news station in the country everyday until these young men are set free with no criminal record. If the President can save his friend from jail than why can't he do it for these young men?Obama Demands Fairness in Jena 6 Case

I am glad that a political figure finally stepped up to say something about this case....I do believe that all six families should get together and file civil suit against the families of the 3 young men who strung up the nooses. That was the "action" that put all of this in to motion and they should be held responsible for starting the whole range of activities....There needs to some action taken against "all" persons involved. Jail for all or jail for none, including the white kids....The people involved, need some mediation and counseling about hate. The whites should have to go to a mandatory class on the History of Blacks in America and shown pictures of black men hanging from nooses and made to explain, how they would feel seeing "white men" hanging from a "poplar tree", taken from their families in the middle of the night and killed. Sensativity, needs to taught. This is just a sad situation all the way around, for everyone involved. But, it was bound to happen. This country (the government, does not feel, the need to apologize for Slavery all that it has cost the country to bear.) It happened and it was wrong. Just like the Holocaust and the internmit of the Japanese. They got apologies, why should blacks not be apologized to for Slavery? We have so far to go as a people....And,I mean HUMAN BEINGS....we all really want the say basic things...but the hate really needs to stop...it is not good and it tears us apart...

To give everyone an example of what can and may happen to the Jena 6 if we DON'T rally and support this cause...
Approximately 90 miles from Jena, LA is the Louisiana State Penitentiary. There I have a first cousin by the name of Curtis Dillon (#282159) who, in 1996, ended up with "100" years imprisonment. He was prosecuted for "attempted 1st degree murder" and "simple burglary." This may not seem unusually shocking but for the fact that upon his arrest and seizure some 12.5 years ago, he was NEVER OFFICIALLY BOOKED AND CHARGED with a crime by the arresting agency (sheriff's dept). His arrest/booking dates have been falsified by the arresting agency and relied upon by the Dept of Corrections.
Because there aren't any records that exist to show that he has been taken into government custody, he has filed a 3-page handwritten "habeas motion" with the court and numerous other filings. This latest motion apparently has merit, because it has been over 5 years and there has been no final ruling made, despite an "order" to rule on the matter given by the Louisiana Supreme Court as recent as June 25 2007. Incredibly, still, two months later, nothing has happened.
He has even had numerous Louisiana attorneys view his documentations and numerous filings, only for them to agree that he has a case, but move away from the matter for fear of personal or professional repercussions.
The bottom line is this: Jena 6 is a VERY serious situation. These young men are in Louisiana, a state known for it's unique Napoleanic code of laws, and it appears, a whole other set of unwritten laws that are unfair and not in favor of our black men. If we don't do all we can to stop this, only God knows how far this will go for them.
As for my cousin's case, we on the outside are now aggressively pursing this matter of contempt to have the lower court finally rule. Please keep us in your prayers.

Mr. Baisden,
This is the beginning of a new process in our community and that is change! It is time for change on so many different levels and I am proud that Obama stepped up to the plate to initiate it in the political arena. I am also extremely proud of you for setting a standard for our background critics to attempt to emulate. There are so many things that we can do to reshape our future, investing, caring and fighting for our beautiful young black men should be priority number one. The jail system already has enough of them!!!!!
Listening to your show yesterday with people who opposed what you are doing for Jena six made me sick to the stomach. I don't have children but I dump a lot of time and money into the children that I am surrounded by on a regular basis, or just help out when I am called upon. People who always have something negative to say never take the time to make change if it does not benefit them!!
Vote Obama!!!!

Hillary has always been my choice. I voted for her when I was living in NY but ever since Obama entered the race for Presidency I wanted my choice to be for the candidate who is willing to address the problems that affect the Black community.
After the Jena 6 story was brought to the public's attention I said to myself that I would vote for the first candidate who had the guts to tackle this blatant injustice against our children. Deep down I was hoping that the candidate would be Hillary but Obama you can count on my vote because you have identified yourself with the pain of injustice that our families are facing each day. This is not about the color of our skin or our class status in society. This is about the failure of our judicial sytem, a system that was design to provide a fair trial for all. If our judicial sysytem fail us, then what are we saying to the people of this country? Are we indirectly telling them to seek other alternative when they have similar problems?
Thank you Obama for caring about our children because they are our future.

You know when I heard the question as to whether B.Obama would stand up and be accounted for. I pondered about that thinking that he is now in an arena where he will either be silent or heard. I applaud him for being wanted to be heard. I questioned if he would give thought to others who would vote for him and possibly change their minds after he speaks out on racism. I am glad that he didnt let this keep him from making an informed choice to let the world know that he is a BLACK MAN everyday and that he has BLACK DAUGHTERS and one day will have BLACK SON -N-LAWS and possibley grandchildren. And that Racism does still exist. B.Obama has alot on his plate at this point in time and has some very smart and influential people working w/ and for him. I do believe that everything that happens does happen for a reason and JENA6 no matter how terrible it is will have a positive outcome. It is time for laws to be changed we are no longer in Jim Crowe's era and it is time to update the laws to the times. For all the Nay sayers keep living and when it comes in your back door don't hollar out,out of fear or even cry out what am I to do. Now is our chance.

I agree. I was ghung ho about voting for Hillary. When Obama came along I was torn. When I first heard about the Jena 6 I e-mailed Hillary's Camp and Obama's Camp. Obama's people responded to my e-mail. Hillary did not. I made my mind up at that moment. As a black woman, it's difficult to decide between the two minorities, but it's clear which is needed more.

I agree with him 100% we still have alot of work to do in this country. It's sad that in 2007 nooses are being hung and children have to fight for their rights. In Jena, LA instead of trying to rectify the problem they cut the tree down Jena needs to be held accountable . I live in Augusta, GA the only thing that's not up front and in your face here is the KKK's walking in their customs but do believe me they are here, they aren't burning crosses in our yards, yet!

May I ask the person who referred to their cousin being improperly jailed in LA if your cousin is innocent or partially innocent of the crime for which he is accused? If not, then your analogy to the Jena Six situation is inappropriate, but injustice is injustice.
Please don't think I am not sympathetic, because as we speak my nephew is awaiting indictment on a crazy charge in Baton Rouge, where even if he was guilty of this first offense his bond should not have been $50,000!!! This is a young man of seventeen years, who has never even had a real fight in his life being accused of something for being on the wrong street when the police were poling and arresting in the neighborhood.
These situations and many others must come to an end, and the only way to do that is to reach back and PUSH like our predecessors!!! But as a people we also must be right when we yell "wolf".
I know this is not the subject, but this is SAD!!!!
This time it's a young black woman being tortured and raped for a week, and the plan was to kill her, but the police received a tip from someone and saved her.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities said Tuesday they are considering hate crime charges in the case of a woman who was tortured while being held captive for at least a week, and they are investigating the possibility that she was lured by a man she met on the Internet.
The victim was repeatedly called a racial slur while her captors sexually abused, beat and stabbed her, her mother said.
Six people, all white, including a mother and son and a mother and daughter, were arrested in connection with the alleged abduction of the 20-year-old black woman.
"I don't understand a human being doing another human being the way they did my daughter," Carmen Williams said Tuesday from her daughter's room at Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital. "I didn't know there were people like that out here."
Megan Williams, with a cast on her arm, spoke barely above a whisper.
"I'm better," she said.
The Associated Press generally does not identify suspected victims of sexual assault, but Williams and her mother agreed to release her name.
A prosecutor said police are investigating the possibility that the victim was lured to the house where she was attacked by a man she met on the internet, but Carmen Williams insisted that wasn't the case. "This wasn't from the Internet," she said.
Deputies also interviewed the victim Tuesday morning. State, local and federal officials planned to meet later in the day to decide whether to file hate crime charges, Logan County sheriff's Sgt. Sonya Porter said. An FBI spokesman in Pittsburgh, Bill Crowley, confirmed that the agency is looking into possible civil rights violations.
The woman's abductors called her the N-word "every time they stabbed her," Carmen Williams told The Charleston Gazette earlier.
Authorities were still looking for two people they believe drove the woman to the house where she was abused, said Logan County Chief Deputy V.K. Dingess.
The case is "something that would have come out of a horror movie," Logan County Sheriff W.E. Hunter said.
Deputies found Williams on Saturday when they went to the house in Big Creek, about 35 miles southwest of Charleston, to investigate an anonymous tip from someone who had witnessed the abuse, Porter said Tuesday.
One of the suspects, Frankie Brewster, was sitting on the front porch and told deputies she was alone, but moments later the woman limped toward the door, her arms outstretched, saying "Help me," the sheriff's department said in a news release.
Carmen Williams said doctors told her daughter she may be well enough to leave the hospital within a few days, although a nurse said the young woman's condition was listed as "under evaluation."
"I just want my daughter to be well and recover," Carmen Williams said. "I know the Lord can do anything."
Besides being sexually assaulted, the woman was stabbed four times in the left leg and beaten, Porter said. Her eyes were black and blue. The wounds were inflicted at least a week ago, deputies said.
The woman was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from a toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court. She also had been choked with a cord, it alleges.
One of those arrested, Karen Burton, is accused of cutting the woman's ankle with a knife. She used the N-word in telling the woman she was victimized because she is black, according to the criminal complaint.
The six suspects were arrested Saturday and Sunday. Deputies were still trying to determine whether the woman knew her assailants, Porter said.
Brewster, the 49-year-old who owns the home where the alleged attacks occurred, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and giving false information during a felony investigation.
Her son, Bobby R. Brewster, 24, also of Big Creek, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony.
Burton, 46, of Chapmanville, is charged with malicious wounding, battery and assault during the commission of a felony.
Her daughter Alisha Burton, 23, of Chapmanville, and George A. Messer, 27, of Chapmanville, are charged with assault during the commission of a felony and battery.
Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, is charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding.
All six remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail each, and all have asked for court-appointed attorneys.
(This version CORRECTS correct woman's age to 20.)

I applaud Sen. Obama for standing up and making this statement. Have any of the other candidates acknowledged this issue? I believe Sen. Obama is one politician who is more concerned about being correct, rather than being "politically correct" and that is the breath of fresh air I've longed for in leadership for this country!

I am glad Sen. Obama has come forth. Discrimination and social injustices has gone on so long, and it was allowed, because some of us have been to afraid to step up.
Thanks to the bad boy for putting the issues out there. and for Ms. Vanzant the work place issues are so true. I have seen the horror stories of the discrimination, and you have to step up for your self. I am so glad this is on the table, it will have judges and attorneys thinking real hard when these issues are presented to them. Trust me its a lot of them out there that should have been disbarred long ago, and nobody, especially these children should have to suffer.
When social injustice and discrimination knocks on your door, then maybe some others will understand.

... As a cadinate for the US Presidency and as a Black Man in the US I personally demand more from you.
Let's not cost the brotha the presidency before he gets it. Let's get him IN THERE, THEN we can start demanding he do more, take a more proactive stance, etc.
Yes he could've done more... he could do more to address the situation than to send out a statement, etc...But put yourself in his shoes for a minute and think about the situation he's in.

Amen Michael and all the other supporters. I'm from Louisiana myself and am following this case as well as the others. I hope I'm not the only listener who is aware of the 20 yr old black woman who was kidnapped, raped and tortured the other day in Charleston, WV by a white family for a whole week. Go to this link and read about this hate crime. Let's stand up and not take this anymore.

Hi Mike
I am a regular listener. I use to listen when I was in NYC. I move to ATL 4 yrs ago. I found out 2 yrs ago that you were also on here in the "A".
This is me first comment but seeing the response from Oboma I felt compelled. I just wanted to "BIG UPS" to you for getting the story of the Jena 6 out there. Before you I heard only one report. Now that Oboma has made a statement, we will be hear more from Washington.
This has realy snowballed and you got the ball rolling. Again I say big up, big up, big up.
I cannot be Jena but I will be wearing black in "Hotlanta".

I'm happy Obama took a stand on this issue, but if not for the Michael Baisden show I would not know much about this case, or the plight of many other issues involving blacks. Having been born and raised in Harlem New York I,ve seen injustice and been a victom of the injust justice system. I have a problem with the press all over america only putting out the news they see fit for us to know about. When are we as a people going to take a stand and at the least fight for what we know to be right. I wish we had more people like brother Baisden in public office, then we might stand a fare chance to be treated as we should. Keep up the good work. "Don't give up the fight" Terry

I am glad that Obama has stepped up and spoken about this. I have been trying to decide if I was going to vote for him. I didnt want my decision based solely on the color of his skin. If he keeps this up he will certainly get my vote. My daughter will be 18 this year, and she asked me "Are we voting for him because he is black?" That made me think about the messages I may be sending her. Thanks Obama for doing the right thing, the human thing!
I wish that I could have the same faith that everyone stated about Senator Obama, but I wrote him on August 28th and received the same response that was summitted by Obama for America team. I really wanted more, like a public response to the events in Jena, LA. I support Mr Obama, but I feel that being in his position more can be done. I know it might not be popular to stand up in public, but black seems to not be popular. See enclosed email I received.

Subject: Response to Your Message to Senator Obama
Dear Friend,
Thank you for contacting Obama for America about the situation in Jena,
Louisiana.
When nooses are being hung in high schools, it’s a tragedy that shows
that we all still have a lot of work to do as a country to heal our
racial tensions. And given some of the concerns that have been raised
about the fairness of the judicial proceedings and sentences at stake in
this case, we also have more work to do to ensure that our criminal
justice system works for everyone. We need to make sure that it’s fair
to both the victims and the accused, regardless of race, wealth, or
other circumstances. The legal process in Jena is ongoing, and we are
hopeful that the courts will consider all relevant factors before any
decisions are finalized.
Ensuring fairness and justice in our criminal courts and encouraging
states to do the same will be a high priority for Barack Obama as
president. He is also deeply committed to uniting our country and healing the
racial divisions that continue to plague our nation.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Sincerely,
Obama for America

My outlet, www.BlackTree.Tv has been providing video of the Jena 6 miscarriage of justice for several months now. I would like to cover the sentencing and protest on Sept 20th. I am interviewing Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe on the 19th in Los Angeles, and I need sponsorship in order to make it down to Alexandria in time to catch the bus in the morning for the March Protest. In no way, should my needs eclipse those of the Defense fund for Mychal Bell and the rest of the Jena 6, but i do think that our most powerful weapon is the media, and I have a viable independent media outlet. The fact that this case centers around a 'white' tree and the fact that my outlet is called BlackTree Media, is kind of prolific. this is something I need to cover and share with my 20,000 viewers. I just ask anybody to take a look at my portal www.blacktree.tv, and if they feel moved by any of my content, that they see if they can help me reach Jena in any shape or fashion. Whether it is a plane ticket, hotel stay, I can stay on somebodies hotel sofa or floor. I just want to make it there, and make it back. And cover the situation how it needs to be covered. I plan on asking both Denzel and Russell Crowe about the Jena 6 during my interview on the 19th of September in L.A.

I just wanted to say I was going to vote for Hilary Clinton in 08 however she made a bad move not jumping on this issue. Issues like these is the reason I vote for change her lack of interest to the cause shows her commitment to our community from this point on my family will focus on the Obama camp.

Personally, I'm very happy to see that Obama has stepped up to the plate like a REAL politician should and has finally identified with the struggles of black america. I'm still weighing between Obama and Hilary myself. I like both of the Democratic candidates who seem to be the ONLY democratics in the running for president. But just because he has stood up and voiced his concerned on Jena 6 does not solely win my support for him. Just like the rest of black america, I'm waiting to see what Hilary has to say. She has got to step up and address this issue as well as ALL other ills that effect us along with Obama. May the best man or woman win! Anyway you look at it, It's up to all Democrats to make a big change for 2008 and ESPECIALLY black americans who are yelling for change. No change will come unless we get out and make our voice and power be heard...and that means VOTE!!!

:) Mr. OBAMA should now speak out in public about this situation. I understand that he must be worried about backlash. Now he should practice
what he says he represents, a change from the norm. I am 100% behind his
run for the Presidency, he might be presently surprised to find out that someone that speaks out for something that seems to be so unpopular for the
mainstream newsmedia might be just what the populace is waiting for.

and surprised that Obama stood up as a man who is a leader in this country and speak out about racial injustice. He did not straddle the fence to appease but instead said "as a member of the Black Caucus....". I was unsure before but positive now that I am voting for Barack Obama for president, a REAL MAN.

This is a story my daughter wrote for the Spartan Echo at Norfolk State University:

.................................................. .
NSU comes together at the Jena 6 Rally
By Nicole McGloster 9-5-07
“Justice falls into two categories—there is a justice for people who have money and there is a justice for people without money…”-Senator Yvonne B. Miller
About 50 of Norfolk State University’s staff, faculty, and students came together to inform, campaign, and raise money for the Jena six controversy on Tuesday evening outside of the Mills E. Godwin Student Union Building.
In September 2006, the racial tensions within the small town of Jena, La. erupted. Three nooses were hung from a tree after a black student sat under the “white tree” on his high school campus. Followed by subsequent fights and even an arson incident, the situation escalated when six black students were charged with attempted second-degree murder after they attacked a white student. The white student suffered from a few bruises and cuts, but on the very same day he was released from the hospital and attended a school function that night. Before that particular incident occurred, a group of white students attacked a black student at a party and they were only suspended from school. The black students are now awaiting trial where they could possibly be sentenced to 25 years to 100 years in prison.
Starting off with a brief overview of the racial injustice that is currently taking place in Jena, La., Student Government Association president Keisha Kirkland’s booming voice led the rally. With encouraging words, she not only had the audience shocked by the information that sparked the Jena 6 issue, but also left them wanting to be proactive. She put emphasis on the fact that NSU students “do not condone the violence that took place”, but it’s the Jena high School students’ right to a fair trial.
“This is an issue that affects humanity,” said Senator Yvonne B. Miller, who spoke at the rally. “Justice should not be mislaid or misplaced.”
And the voice that sent chills through the audience was that of Garyn Clark who sang an uplifting gospel selection, as well as the poetic voice of Ahmad Durant-Bey. His poem described how one can and strive to make a change despite his or her current situation. Closing off with a prayer was Reverend Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Sr. of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church.
The student union block was filled with other concerned students who want something done about this injustice.
Cecily Roach, an NSU sophomore, relies on her faith to make a change.
“I plan on keeping them in my prayers.”
Arianna Shortridge, a freshman at NSU, wishes that a trip to Jena could be funded.
“A march or a rally could take place outside of the governor’s house or the courthouse,” Shortridge said.
Clinton Quick, an NSU senior, questions how America can be the most powerful nation in the world with situations like this still going on.
“Petitions and rallies are just a small way to help but I believe that I can make a difference by informing others on what’s going on.”
About 40 students signed up for the Jena 6 committee after the rally, and a donations basket for the Jena students was passed around.
“Don’t think this rally was a waste of time…we’re not going to ignore this,” said Kirkland. “Jena six. Google it, research it, always find out what’s going on in our black communities.”
Donations for the families of the Jena 6 are being taken by Valerie Holmes in Student Support Services on the third floor of the Student Union Building.

I am disappointed at the fact that Hillary Clinton has not responded. It is sad that newstations would rather report on Parris Hilton going to jail and why Brittney Spears shaved head instead of why six young african american men are been convicted and charge with second degree attempted murder and battery for a high school fight. It goes to show how far we have not come.
I amand asking for contact numbers for FOX,NBC, CourtTV,CBS and whatever other stations that are out there and just like we are blowing up Hillary Clintion's phone we need to blow up these newstations as well.
" If we don't stand for something we will fall for anything" and hoestly we have been falling way to long !
Please give the numbers for the news stations so we can blow them up

No ThreatYet
From the youth in me ... and for some of the youth you see What I'm about to say... may or may not be okay, but none the lest it can no longer be delayed.
Because anger kept inside... just makes you want to hurt someone or die... but if it's expressed with love and creativity... it not only heals but it eliminates negativity.
You ask what's up ? ....... What's wrong with us ?....... You ask ?... Why can't we see what’s going on, where we're going wrong ?
The problem is that we do see... what's come to be....... So you ask ?... Why don't we care ?...
Because care is rare, and there are to few who dare too.
Personally I don't believe there's nothing wrong me or us.... So what's up with all the fuss... About us being a lost generation of desecration and degradation.
We're not lost..... and we don't need to be found. We're right here beside you...living out what you pass down...
Oh sure you wanna say... we wasn't like that in my day... you hommies done gone far astray.
Why do you deny?... that we are what you are, only...magnified....What we learned came from YOU...taught to us before it was thought through.
No! ain't nothing wrong with us... what we're doing is right and just... we're exactly what you made us ... when you played us.
We ain't saying that it's right to do what's wrong... but don't expect us to stop on our own, what you kept going.
Now you wan'na pass the buck... and say good luck... instead of facing it... all you did was duck.
When you see some of us roaming around in gangs... what you are really seeing are gangs of Pain, gang pain is not just what we do... it's what we are, it's all that we know... it's the only way to go, or so it seems... in a world that's seriously mean.
Imagine the fear... when a gang comes near... Imagine how uncertain is your life and destiny... when you're threaten by a group of angry beings.
Who to you for no reason known want to rob... beat... murder... forget...and leave you alone. Then imagine... they wake up the next day like everything's OK, with no dismay.
That's how a child feels before he can even properly think... all he knows is that he is being robbed... by a society mob, who leaves him uncertain about his life and destiny.
Because of a group of angry beings, who for no reason known to him... beat him down and out of what should have been.
Then they murder his chance... to be enhanced, by what should be his by right... a loving
welcoming and caring life. Then they wake up everyday... like it's okay and look at us in dismay.
We're an exact reflection... of your choices and selections to ignore us once more, while only living for a day as you make your own way.
No there's no generation gap... only a lack of true caring... sharing... boldness and daring.
But thank GOD we're still exactly as he made us... still creative... young and strong...maybe sometimes misguided but definitely not wrong.
What's wrong... is what you've taught us, not with words to your satisfaction... but rather through your inappropriate and immoral actions.
What's wrong with us... is what's wrong with you... We both want to ignore the truth of what we MUST DO.
You say We must learn, study, and work hard to make it... We say you gotta unlearn, study, work hard, and stop faking it.
Get real with us and we can get real with you... stop ignoring us and we'll stop ignoring you... stop dis-in us and we'll stop dis-in you.
As long as we act out the pain, rage, fear, confusion and neglect that's still within... there still a chance, there still a means to a end.
But if things stay the same... unchanged, insane, and we no longer feel the pain, that's when there's nothing left to gain.
Because when we no longer feel... and we no longer cry... when all that's left is for us to die. When we no longer Love or hate
then humanity is doom... That's when you've sealed your fate.
When even in a twisted way...we ain't got thing left to honor... you can best believe you've finally achieved a generation of Jeffery Domers.
But as long as we're still seeking... your attention without it being
mention...
as long as we still feel the pain, fear, rage,
and neglect.
Be somewhat thankful because there's still time, there's still a chance to change and connect... but do it now, don't over reflect, cause we still love you and we're still ... NO THREAT YET .

I like everyone else was outraged when I learned of the Jena 6 case. Where are the public figures such as the black actors and actresses? I just visited Oprah Winfrey's website, because I wanted to know why I hadn't heard anyone mention her name along with the other public figures that will be arriving in Jena on Sept 20. Her website contained no information about Jena 6. She is one of the most influential black women in the world. Her television show reaches millions and this is a case that is certainly worthy of National and International attention. Why isn't she involved?

Disappointment doesn't describe how I am feeling about this entire situation. We have a President that constantly speaks about the actions of other countries, yet he does nothing about the country he's supposed to represent. I am so tired of electing these public officials in office that do nothing for this country except use its citizens to line their pockets. Bush has no problem sending blacks to Iraq to fight for his cause, but he does nothing to help the blacks that are here. The one thing that I can say is that I had the sense not to vote him in office. Kanye said it best, "Bush doesn't care about black people."
We as blacks need to stop the black on black crime and ban together. Not just for this cause, but in general. Imagine how strong we would be if we worked together. We would certainly be a force to be reckoned with. The reason why white people continue to get away with this crap is because we have proven to them that we aren't willing to work together to change the world.
I think it's time we proved them wrong. It's time for us to unite.

YOU SURE YOU GOT THE ONE WHO INITIALLY STARTED IT.IM NEITHER WHITE NOR AFRICAN AMERICAN.I HAVE A TEENAGE SON IN HIGH SCHOOL.HIS HIGH SCHOOL IS 80 TO 90 PERCENT AFRICAN AMERICAN AND KNOWS NOT TO TRY AND SIT IN AN AREA THAT BLACK KIDS SIT EVERYDAY AND IF HE DOES I THINK WE BOTH KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES AND IF YOU DONT TOUR NIEVE TO THE WORLD WE LIVE IN TODAY NOT THAT THE NOOSES WERE RIGHT BUT A SITUATION WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHATEVER THE RACE ROLES WERE.WE AS ADULTS NEED TO TEACH OUR YOUNGER GENERATION LOVE AND RESPECT FOR ALL RACES WE ARE NOT THERE YET BUT IF WE ALL STEP UP TO THE PLATE MAYBE ONE DAY WELL GET THERE.

I was so happy to hear that Senator Obama, busy running for President was aware of the tragedy going on in Jena La but found time to speak out against this injustice. I'm equally happy to see he mentioned the Genarlow Wilson case also. With the 2 newest stories; the nooses on the Unv of Md campus & in WV of the black woman being held captive by 6 white people -- it makes me wonder if this is a co-incidence because a Black man is running for President.

The lack of coverage by the Media and it's various Pundits smacks of racial bias in America. We continue to be ignored and the perception that what is important to African Americans is not important to America, is perpetuated.
Case in point, have you heard of the missing student of law, Justicia, in Jena Louisiana?
On any given day in America we are bombarded by the media, with stories of
the latest missing college student. These "news" items are reported ad
nauseam, purportedly, with the intent of: A) involving the public in the
search and recovery efforts, B) Warning the public of the potential for
danger, C) Invoking a since of outrage and accountability for the state of
our justice system. I truly sympathize with the missing students and their
families, and as a family man would exhaust every effort to secure the safe
return of one of my children if such a tragedy befell them.
I am therefore shocked and amazed by the News Media's lack of coverage for
the latest missing female in JENA LOUISIANA. Where O Where is the
endless, detailed, minute by minute coverage in the search for LADY JUSTICE
in JENA. She could not have traveled far on her own, as I understand the
facts, she is BLIND. Where is the since of urgency now?, Why isn't the
Media involving the American public in the daily recovery efforts?, When
will they warn us of the potential for danger?, Are not they outraged by the
lack of accountability of our justice system?
To aid in the search, here is a more detailed description of the missing,
Justicia: Lady Justice or Justicia is most often depicted with a set of
weighing scales typically suspended from her left hand, upon which she
measures the strengths of a case's support and opposition. She is also often
seen carrying a double-edged sword in her right hand, symbolizing the power
of Reason and Justice, which may be wielded either for or against any party.
As stated above, Lady Justice is often depicted wearing a blindfold. This is
done in order to indicate that justice is (or should be) meted out
objectively, without fear or favor, regardless of the identity, power, or
weakness.
I implore you to continue to make the public aware of Justicia.
Please rally the search as I fear it could be too late. Remind America to continue the search until she is found. She is as I stated previously, blind, and missing in JENA LOUISIANA.
Most likely you have not heard much about the missing Justicia in Jena. Perhaps because she is not Blonde and Blue-eyed. Maybe it's because she did not go missing while on summer vacation. Niether was she stolen from her bed in the middle of the night, but in full view of the residents of Jena Louisiana, she has vanished.
If she is not found soon the consequences will be grave, lives will be lost and we may never see her again.

Mr. Baisden as a young 25 year old man - Listening to your show and seeing how you have taken this issue upon your self by speaking out has inspired me to do the same.
I am not able to get on a bus like allot of people will i'm sure, but I am able to report the what's really going on. Since no media outlet seem to think this is a serious problem I have taken it upon my self to inform my readers on my website: www.TheBlackAdvantage.com and hopefully more and more people will see the injustice that we still face in this Country.

:D :D I heard The Bad Boy blast this statement and I said to myself, "Finally, someone with the balls to confront the REAL issues and talk back to the people. We need Barack Obama in the White House because at least he had the balls to say forget the damn approval ratings and lets get to the bottom of this mess! He's got my vote and to hell with Hillary Clinton! That goes to show you that just because you were the First Lady, don't mean that when its comes to your house, she will put you first!

Yeah! Obama gets my vote. I've been monitoring this case as well being that I live in California and it seems as history is repeating itself more so than ever now. First the Jena 6, then the University of Maryland (the hanging of a noose) and now the story regarding the West Virginian 20yr old (woman) who was tortured and beaten. We are going to have to recreate the 70's (Black Power) but with 2007 Millennium flare...it's time to start protesting more so than ever on all sides of the US.
I pray for us in this day and age.
Mike here is Hillary's press release
9/12/2007
Hillary Clinton Statement on the Jena Six
I am very worried about what has happened -- and what is happening -- in Jena, Louisiana. I do not condone violence of any kind, but this situation raises very serious questions of injustice and inequality. I am deeply concerned about reports of potentially disparate treatment of white youths and African-American youths in the criminal justice system. I am troubled by reports that African-American students were initially charged and may be sentenced in a manner out of proportion to their wrongs. And I have long been troubled by a history of disparate treatment of African Americans in our criminal justice system.
Situations like this one remind us that we all have a responsibility to confront racial injustice and intolerance. I urge the civil rights divisions of the Department of Justice and the Department of Education to thoroughly review these cases and the surrounding events to find out whether they raise federal civil rights violations.

Hi Jeff J. It's so great to see that you are stepping up to the plate as a white guy. The Jena 6 is real and disgusting! I agree with you about the Gov and these crooked policitians in every state! That would be great for Obama to be in Jena next week!!!

I wanted to wait until I saw both statements by both candidates (and to know that yet again) it's will always be the color of our skin that makes the difference for equal justice. How this man can see the color barrier and know that something needs to be addressed and take action, while the other candidate states that she only hopes that law makers change their way of thinking (it only states who will be the great leader) of making this country better for all "man-kind".

I was extremely happy to hear that Mr. Obama responded so promptly to the Michael Basdian radio show regarding the plight of the Jenna 6. Michael reached out to all Democratic candidates, but Mr. Obama was the first one to respond -- within an hour. I heard the response from Hillary Clinton today, and am not surprised to hear that she "urged" Congress to take some action. I also heard Michael ask us to call Senator Clinton's number (703/469-2008) to inquire as to her definition of "urge." (I have gbeen trying for the last 45 minutes and only get a busy signal.)
Previously, I have been leaning toward voting for Senator Obama since his announcement that he were running for president, but his response to the plight of the Jenna 6 has won my vote.
The other thing that I find interesting is the surprise that everyone is saying they felt regarding the Jenna 6 incident. Racism is alive and well in America. Last night, I heard about a woman who had been held captive for a week by six men in Virginia and she was beaten, raped and stabbed repeatedly. These types of situations are happening everywhere, and they never make it to the media.
I am happy to hear that Michael Baisden is taking a stand. Maybe this move is what will be needed to get the Black Caucas and our Black leaders to take a stand on the issue of racism once and for all. I was proud to listen to Michael Baisden make the rally for these young men happen and to hear of Mr. Obama's response. Keep up the good work!!

:) IM PLEASED TO SEE OBAMA STANDING UP AND GETTING BEHIND THE MOVEMENT.

We teach a rap session class with girls ages 12-17 and their assignment for next week will be to download the lyrics to this song and have the facts of the Jena 6 case for discussion. I am so proud of Mike Baisden for doing what he was born to do, take the cover off of the situations that need to be uncovered. I will make sure to vote because when you don't vote you shouldn't have an opinion. To Jasirix - U Go SON.... looking forward to seeing you on 106 and Park. It's hard to demand fairness when the playing field isn't level? A brother was trying to make this very important point on today's show (9/13) but was cut short by Ricky Smilie(spelling?).
Under the Constitution we still do not have rights equal to those of white males. Our civil rights are rights added to the Constitution by amendment which instructs the courts to treat us AS THOUGH our rights equal those recognized and protected by the Constitution (God-given Unalienable Rights). Nowhere do the Constitution and its Amendments establish that people whose Unalienable Rights were not recognized at the document's conception are now protected and preserved by this very same document!
Until the Constitution is amended to recognize the Unalienable Rights of ALL human beings born within the borders of this country, by law, we will all continue to be second class citizens to white males.
If we want to demand equal treatment under the law in this country, the cornerstone document of this legal system much first recognize Unalienable rights of ALL people.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE research this for yourself. Pursuit of a goal that isn't clearly defined in our minds is sure to fail.

I don't know if you have mentioned this or not, Michael, but where is Oprah? All of her money and resources could have had these boys out of jail a long time ago. I am truly disppointed that she has not made this a topic on her show and taken a vocal stand to speak out against this injustice. I think it is great that Obama spoke out but it took a little too long in my book. This is over a year old and has been a burden on those families for too long. Oprah needs to get on her soap box and speak to her large audience and get them involved as well. Michael, put her on blast and tell her to put her money where her mouth is. If she doesn't then that leads me to believe that she is more interested in keeping her majority audience than standing up for what's right.

I know one thing> It is time for our people to register to vote and come out and support Obama. This support will create peace around the world and it is much deeper than I care to write about. You people have no ideal how important it is to support Obama. He is living out our prophectic foundation that is talked about in history. I won't go to deep into it but there are things going on in this country that is giving us a que to take the reigns and start driving the cart ourselves and I am also an astrologer that see things to come but the people need to be ready to receive it or you will lose it again for a long time. Take the opportunity to turn this negative to a positive.

It really would not take much to get young black people to vote. Many of you don't give them enough credit. If they had caring people in their neighborhoods teaching them about important issue in our nation and being a positive role model, you would be surprise what they would do. I am one that use to think voting was a waste of my time. But I got so angry with the way this justice system is going and I talk a lot of smack about it, so I decided it was time to register. You will never guess what happen once I did. Both my nephew and my daughter registered all so. Kids really do watch what you do. If you are not where they are, how can they see the right way of doing it? I don't care who don't vote for Obama, I will. But I tell you what, with the way some people like to say we multiply like cockroaches, I don't see any reason why we can't have whoever we want as President or anything else for the good. Are we not really the majority? :)

Doesn't matter...
Look at South Africa, for example. Even though Apartheid has "ended" and the black majority now have the right to vote, the WHITES still own 75% of the LAND;
Tell me, how is it that with black voters in the MAJORITY, many of them STILL have nothing?
The answer is simple:
Things are STILL controlled by the racist WHITE MAN!

This is what I expect from a person that wants to be president. He called names and specifically said he and the CBC will be watching. Senator Obama has so far been a person of his word. I have no reason to think differently now. If I had to make a choice for president just on the trait of integrity, Senator Obama will get it hands down.

Where that might be true, this board is about the Jena six. If you want to make a board on 10 black men raping a woman and a 10 yr old then please do so.
By the way.. The history of whites attacking black is about 400 years longer than blacks attacking whites. So, you would have to forgive us silly:confused: black folk for focusing on it so much.

Mr. Obama is absolutely on point. It is sad that it takes a situation like the Jena 6 to wake the country up. These injustices occur more frequently than not all over the United States. We have become comfortable in our individual lives and have decided that if our familys aren't the focal target then we can turn a blind eye....Not so.......Open your eyes America. Really??? so can you please show me what he is going to do. By "calling on the judge" and "calling on the district attorney"...do you think he is going to do that himself? He says that he is going to "monitor" the situation. Where is the action?
He uses catch phrases but I see no action. Same as Sen. Clinton.

I am a 37 year old white male and have had it up to here with all these injustices and how we need to stand together. Listening to the show today Friday Sept 14th at 4:55 it was easy to understand why we as a nation will NEVER unite. George Wellborne the radio addresser was using Racist and I say it Racist terms by refferring to the people of Louisiana as "Good Ole Boys" a very derogitory term toward white people. Also it seems to be no big deal to use the following terms I hear throughout the day REDNECK, White Boy, Wet Backs, and so on. If we are to come together as a nation then we need to act as a NATION united in the good for all people and not just "Our Kind" I still believe there are tragedy's that occur in everyday America, but to solve these we need to come together. For one I think having Naacp,Black Colleges, Reverends Al Sharpton who will rise up in a minutes notice to serve" Our People" but, as in the Duke Lacrosse case will not rise up to apologize when they are incorrect. If we are to truly be Americans then we as AMericans need to quit Stereotyping Ourselves as African Americans, Mexican Americans, etc and realize in the end all we really are are AMERICANS. Black History month and so forth, it is great to remember our past and heritage, but that is what it is our past. Move forward and look at both sides of the road. Rally against ourselves until we realize what really fuels our determination. And remember noone can be held down unless they want to.Also here is a free history lesson on slavery> The slaves were sold by there own people into slavery. If you want to be made at someone be mad at the tribes in Africa who fought and captured there own people and SOLD them off> In my mind that is the true injustice not knowing the truth rather not knowing the whole truth only what seems to be right at the time to appease your feelings for not striving to get all you can from life. Also do some research on the number of fraudulant insurance claims from Kitrina and see why so little is made of helping. Have you forgotten the looting ? Stop seeing everything as black/white and start seeing the root causes of why people feel the way they do.

I understand your feelings, but you must look deeper than an inch. You will probably never understand the constant struggles we face daily. From being looked at funny to being overlooked in corporate America for a well deserved position. Things have not changed as much as people think or wish to believe. I am 27 and have faced and continue to face those racial blocks daily. So until you are able to take a walk in the shoes of a Black person; think are WE treated fairly.?

Another thing regarding the Katrina Insurance claims. I don't believe that only Blacks made those claims to get help, whites also did. yes, I feel that the lack of help after was mostly based upon the majority left there (Blacks) poor Blacks and a few poor Whites. When you're in the need of help, one must do what has to be done for SURVIVAL. Louisana is still STRUGGLING!!!

I must add my 2 cents worth to your comments. as a 37 yr. old you were born around the time I was about to enter high school. My perspective on America is definitely different from yours. You probably never went to a doctor's office where the receptionist & doctor were on the white side of the building & blacks entered from the other side & sat in their own waiting room. My mother, a teacher in the town at that time took me to whatever side she felt like at the time. I always wondered why we were the only blacks who sat on the side with the whites. there are good ole boys in many cities because that is a fact that will not be changed as long as there are people. As far as who sold us into slavery, if you research slavery in Africa & slavery in America you will see a difference in the treatment of the slaves. This is 2007 & there shouldn't be young whites hanging nooses on trees in reaction to blacks sitting under a tree. To even do this they had to know what a noose hanging from a tree means to a black person. A lot of whites say they don't see what the problem is with the confederate flag. The flag represents the states who left the union because of the slavery dispute. The states who wanted slavery adopted that flag. that's a fact that can't be changed. Do your research my young friend before you make general statements. Blacks who grew up before the 70's lived & understand the struggle. Some have different views on how to handle things but they know.

I am glad we can have this discussion as you stated by my age no I have never been in a room where blacks are on side and whites on another. So to understand that point would be mute. Although it is was and still is an injustice as I was stating the only way to overcome these differences are to quit trying to separate and join together. As you know by my age I am also a product of the affirmative action policy where by equality was not a option. I do realize that there are still sterotypes in the workforce. I was stating that I personally would be mad if I was treated to what I felt was a wrong doing. Ambushing people to make comments like Clinton's for a cause are in my mind just as unjust. Being a country of free minded people we should not have to rely on political figures to be our role models, but should in turn become role models ourselves. I know that the wounds of slavery are deep, but if we continue to let these wounds remain open and be a focus point of life then when can we start to move forward ? In no disrespect to the board members are there anyone on the boards who knows anyone who knows anyone who was a slave or is all this book or taught anger? disrespect anyone and if I do then I apologize. I am mearly giving my view which all too often is concealed by me, my peers, and the youth today. Our country is a strong country and I am proud to be an American. I served my time in the military and understand war is necessary as many don't we must look at the issue have any terrorist attacks occurried on our soil since we went to Irag? It is the dumbing down of America that irritates me. We have issues that need the whole country to address such as illegal immigration that will require everyone to help fix and i think that will be the BIGGEST challenge in the near future. We live in The United States where by English is the language yet we allow our banks, government offices, and offical buildings to use both English and Spanish as equals. In closing I will share what I believe is the latest injustice I have seen in my work field. Is it better to give minority privaleges to a minority person who works 5 white people or to a white person who works 5 minorities? Who really benefits? Think about it. Once again I appreciate your time and comments as I myself am also tired and wish to truly stop concealing my idea and opinions and rather learn from them. Thankyou

This Just In !!! Sightings of the missing Justicia in Jena Louisiana! as reported by: JANET McCONNAUGHEY, Associated Press Writer
NEW ORLEANS - A state appeals court on Friday threw out the only remaining conviction against one of the black teenagers accused in the beating of a white schoolmate in the racially tense north Louisiana town of Jena.
Mychal Bell, 17, should not have been tried as an adult, the state 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal said in tossing his conviction on aggravated battery, for which he was to have been sentenced Thursday. He could have gotten 15 years in prison.
His conspiracy conviction in the December beating of student Justin Barker was already thrown out by another court.
Bell, who was 16 at the time of the beating, and four others were originally charged with attempted second-degree murder. Those charges brought widespread criticism that blacks were being treated more harshly than whites after racial confrontations and fights at Jena High School.
Bell's attorney Louis Scott said he didn't know whether his client, whose bond was set at $90,000, would get out of jail immediately.
"We don't know what approach the prosecution is going to take — whether they will re-charge him, where he would have to be subjected to bail all over again or not," Scott said.
Civil rights leaders, including the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, had been planning a rally in support of the teens for the day Bell was to have been sentenced.
"Although there will not be a court hearing, we still intend to have a major rally for the Jena Six and now hopefully Mychal Bell will join us," Sharpton said in an e-mailed statement.
Said Jackson: "The pressure must continue until all six boys are set free and sent to school, not to jail."
Jena is a mostly white town where racial animosity flared about a year ago when a black student sat under a tree that was a traditional gathering place for whites. A day later, three nooses were found hanging from the tree. There followed reports of racial fights at the school, culminating in the December attack on Barker.
The reversal of Bell's conviction will not affect four other teenagers also charged as adults, because they were 17 years old at the time of the fight and no longer considered juveniles, said attorney George Tucker of Hammond.
Prosecutors have the option of appealing to the state Supreme Court. District Attorney Reed Walters did not return a call Friday.
Judge J.P. Mauffray had thrown out Bell's conspiracy conviction, saying it was not a charge on which a juvenile may be tried as an adult. But he had let the battery conviction stand, saying Bell could be tried in adult court because the charge was among lesser charges included in the original attempted murder charge.
Teenagers can be tried as adults in Louisiana for some violent crimes, including attempted murder, but aggravated battery is not one of those crimes, the court said.
Defense lawyers had argued that the aggravated battery case should not have been tried in adult court once the attempted murder charge was reduced.
The case "remains exclusively in juvenile court," the Third Circuit ruled.
Will Justicia be found at last?

WE AS A NATION NEED TO STAND TOGETHER AS ONE; NO MATTER WHAT COLOR, RACE, ORIGIN, SEX, ETC YOU ARE.......JENA SIX WAS A RACISTS MOVE NO MATTER HOW YOU MAY WANT TO EXAMINE IT. THIS WAS A HIGH SCHOOL ALTERCATION THAT IN A JUST COMMUNITY WOULD HAVE SUSTAINED TO BEING SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS NOT JAIL TIME FOR 22 YEARS, BUT HE IS FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.......JUSTICE HAS PREVAILED

For whatever reason, I can't sleep, so I'm up responding to comments here. It would take a while to educate you on all the things you mentioned here, but first let me say the Africans who sold their brethren into slavery did not realize what they were doing. Many of them were forced to capture their own otherwise lose their families and/or be killed. We're told that Africans did this [slavery] to themselves, but this isn't the truth. We're told that Africans did this to themselves as yet another means of justifying slavery. Again, we always blame the victim just as we have been trained to do.
You also mentioned root causes of why people feel the way they do. We can't look at root causes unless we examine our past. We certainly cannot live in the past, but until we reckon with it and understand fully what our past has done to all of us, we will never be able to move forward with positivity or unity. We still blame the victim which in this case would be Black people.

What should happen here is the local Minority politicians should move to have Jena L.A. Charter abrogated. This has never happened in the history of the United States Corporate history. This will send a message nation wide to the administrative governments around the country, that if they don't administer the law in its proper form then they will no longer have a charter to operate
under. Take the power back from the judges and prosecutors and give it back to the people.

OUR FUTURE PRESIDENT HAS TAKEN A STAND BESIDE YOU, THAT'S HUGH YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF. I BET THIS CASE GETS THROWN OUT NOW. HILARY CLINTONS RESPONSE WIL BE NEXT AND FINALLY OUR PRESENT LEADER ; BUSH MUST RAISE HIS EYEBROW AND SPEAK UP.
HOPEFULLY HEADS WILL FINALLY ROLL.
I just read in my local newspaper that "A Louisiana appeals court threw out yesterday the only remaining conviction against one of the black teenagers accused in the beating of a white schoolmate in the racially tense town of Jena". Is this really true? Do this mean that M.Bell is free? How does he and the others teens pick up their lives and continue?
Also, I guess the officials in Jena did not want hundreds of thousands of protesters descending on their town.

Please, Please don't lose this momentum, turn it toward the young man still in jail in Georgia for consental sex, the young lady in Virginia, the young man in Texas falsely accused of murder. (CNN) -- Six West Virginia residents have been charged with kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting a Charleston woman for at least a week, the Logan County Sheriff's Department said Monday.
Danny Combs and Alisha Burton were charged in the West Virginia case.
1 of 3 Sheriff's deputies went Saturday to a Big Creek, West Virginia, residence in response to an anonymous tip that a woman was being held against her will, the department said in a news release.
As they spoke with a woman on the front porch, "a female inside the residence limped toward the door with her arms held out, saying, "Help me."
The 23-year-old woman had stab wounds on her left leg and bruises around her eyes, authorities said. The wounds were about a week old, the release said.
"Deputies found her with two black eyes, part of her hair had been pulled out, she had lacerations on her neck, and she had been physically, mentally and sexually abused," Logan County Sheriff W.E. Hunter said.
The victim was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from the toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court, The Associated Press reported.
Deputies arrested Frankie Brewster, 49; her son Bobby, 24; Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, West Virginia; and George A. Messer, 27, Karen Burton, 46, and Alisha Burton, 23, all of Chapmanville, West Virginia. All six were held Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond each, and all have asked for court-appointed public defenders, according to AP.
Charges range from kidnapping and torturing to malicious wounding and battery.
Those arrested are white and the victim is black, and the FBI plans to investigate it as a possible hate crime, according to AP. The sheriff's department requested the FBI's participation, an agency spokesman told AP
Our soon to be president is correct, we have a lot of work left to do in America as far as race relations. Now who is covering this case to make sure this woman receives proper justice for the inhumanities she has suffered? This is something I thought the minglecity family should know about, the stand that is being made for the students of Jena 6 is only the beginning, we have to go further, things have to be corrected. The young lady in this story is 23 years of age, where will this violence end. Our country is in a racial up-roar and its time we stopped ignoring the signs.

This is so true. This movement has become so powerful and they can see that this can absolutely lead to so much more than the Jena 6. They've "thrown us a bone" and expect us to take our little bone and go away. But this is just the beginning. It is a disgrace that these boys have had to go through this, and at the same time, their arrests have sparked a major movement and I'm proud of those boys and the families for standing strong. We have to keep the momentum.

With this comment you just made, you have identified yourself as a REDNECK. Did you know that is what most white people say about slaves when they are trying to appear holier than thou?? "Well, they were sold into slavery by other African tribes." First, let me give you a REAL HISTORY LESSON. The African tribes that handed over other Africans were enemies of each other. The WHITES (thats your people) would pay the stronger tribes to hunt the weaker tribes. Africans never sold any slaves. That is a distinction that belongs to ONLY your race. And if I remember right, I saw whites looting too POST Katrina. (Which by the way you spelled wrong) Get over yourself. I dont care why you feel the way you do. Karen: You complain about all the stereotypes used on the Michael Baisden yet you proceeded to remind the aboriginal Americans about things that was done by them. You just perform the same offenses that you complained about. Now let me give you a little bit of history.
First of all the slave ships that were found over here never had manifests in them so you don't know where they came from. 2 Europeans did not have the navigational skills so to say that Africans were brought here is conjecture.
There is documented proof that the dark skinned kinky haired people were here before any European ever landed their feet on this soil and spoke a language that :Europeans could not understand so the had Columbus bring Moors from the Iberian Peninsula over here to do the communication and navigation for them. :This land was taken by conquest based on the trust of the aboriginal people and betrayed but the European settlers. Take a look at the Moroccan Treaty of Peace and Friendship in 1787. The Europeans were adopted on this land mass by the AL Moroccans and introduce to world trade when it was prohibited to do business with these people all over the world. This was commemorated by the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE with a stamp which I have a copy of and the history purchased at the post office. I have mentioned every source of information so you can check it out for yourself and not take my word for it. If you take a look at the time line of the Moroccan Treaty of its drafting and the signing and the travel time, you could see clearly that this could not have taken place at this particular time or era.
The distance was too far to make a journey in that short period of time without motors or gas propelled apparatus. :This means that the real Morocco is in fact The Americas and the travel distance was amongst the coast on the east side of the Americas. So don't mention anything about slavery when you believe everything under the indoctrination of this system and haven't done any research to prove anything you think you know. I am not mad at you for any reason but you need to have facts before you speak. You speak of the NAACP being unnecessary (I might support you on that but for different reasons than yours) but you never speak on the Tri-collateral commission or the Counsel of Foreign Affairs (all white men) that have a so-called public institution for the good of the people and there. These people create War, FYI. If you have questions you can go to my message board at Mingle City because our job is to teach all of he human family including you, so you and anyone else can email.

The so-called African American need to reclaim their Nationality and Birth Rights back, to completely remove the shackles from themselves. We can write, march, protest all we want but we are doing all of these things under institutionalized Slavery. Know your true Identity then you can free yourself. Terrorism by this government will never go away until you make them stop by removing yourself from their system.

The bottom line is that WHICHEVER WHITE person becomes president(and they most certainly will be white), it's up to US to take care of US. :)
No lie bro.. Its so disappointing to listen to some of these blind people that believes Hillary Clinton is going to help them in some kind of way. If the husband didnt do nothing for you, what do you think the wife is going to do. And she isnt even as good as her Cheating hubby..

I'm sorry you guys, but hillary is playing a smoke and mirrors game with us for this election. She knows that she has to please us now to get the white house. Barack Obama is the most genuine candidate america has seen in a long time. He isn't just for black people, he is for all people. People are saying that he is too "new" for the job of presidency, but i'd rather have someone who is pure at heart for the people, than someone who has mastered the art of manipulation on the people. Let's not have the "crabs in a bucket" mentality on someone who could/will change our america and the worlds view of us. Don't tear him down before he can stand up! Lets NOT be like those idiots who voted for Bush a SECOND time, because not much will change for us if you vote for Hilary.
BArack Obama 08 !

Its getting to the point where she will SAY ANYTHING to get elected. She will tell just about any lie that comes across her frontal lobe.

If this country wasn't so racist, Obama would make a great president!

I feel ya there. I like Obama, I would like to hear his whole platform, but he has come across with honesty and integrity. You have never heard him change his story about anything. Unlike the others who change with the wind. Including Clinton.

I was looking for something else yesterday and “accidentally” came across this article. Know when you read the article you as well as I know I didn’t not come across this article by accident. Our Lord & Savior made sure I read this article to make everyone aware of what is going on. The world really and truly is going backwards and I always thought they said that because of the fads that always repeat themselves. Take a look for yourself:

IMMIGRATION RIGHTS GROUPS CLAIM POLICE CAPTAIN KIDNAPPED GUEST WORKERS
Just got this press release over the transom. These are pretty serious allegations. I'm not a believer in trying people via the Internet, but the charges certainly should be investigated to see if there is anything to them. I also know that MIRA and ACLU are groups that are serious and credible and not likely to trump up baseless allegations and I would imagine you'll be hearing more about this story.

This would be th counterpoint to Talk radio, the better bits of which do know what "svengali" is. Limbaugh and paul harvey both occaionally refer to themselves as such.

Yeah. It seems that in some parts of the US, foreign workers get the same treatment as those in Libya.

To all the Kanya West’s & 50 Cents of the world that seem to think record sales are the most important things going on in today’s world SHAME ON YOU! I continue to stress that our ancestors did not work as hard as they did for this. It seems to me that these people are working against us and for the INTELLEGENT GOVERNMENT by continuing to disgrace our once good name, the good name of minorities working together to get something better (there were even thousands of white people that died to provide something better for us minorities). But instead they continue to feed our children what is forbidden by our HEAVENLY FATHER, to BOAST is something that is deserving of eternal death according to the GOOD BOOK that has been watered down throughout the years.
Furthermore if you read the last bulletin I put up it is apparent to me the main reason our GOOD NAME continues to be tarnished by a select few; Michael Vick was in the news more times than the weather, O.J. Simpson has graced our headlines yet again and I’ve seen him more times than the weather. Why are minorities in the negative news lime-light all the time? I’ll tell you because they want the public to get a look at the “animals” (minorities) to have a good excuse to put us back in slavery, just as they are doing.
The corrupt minded person looking at the television at our women dancing across the stage half naked would say they deserve to be slaves. Or watching the news and see O.J. in the headlines again would say he deserves to be a slave. Or the Mexican that was in a car accident that killed three people would say they deserve to be slaves. But they keep their dirt HUSH, HUSH why because they don’t want the corrupt minded person to WAKE UP and say this happens in ALL RACES and the BIBLE says to forgive how many times? The Bible says we all are created equal. GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.
What do you think would happen if the Mexicans that work for pennies doing jobs we refuse to do refuse to do them any longer?
Always: Love, Peace & Harmony all over the world

I agree that the only way that we are going to get justice is to have lawyers who are committed to the process. Oh where oh where has my Johnny Cochran gone. Someone must rise up and take the mantle. Are all of the black lawyers too busy, stuck up or skered? Bobbra5
The McCauley Foundation will be doing just that! Along with providing other services to underprivileged communities. However, we need more support and more money and we are working hard to get this started. Please visit the website:

Senator Barack Obama , well it is about time you as a black man steped up, I was talking about this today, wondering how come you did nothing for the Jena 6. and wondering where were you on sep 20th. I really was saying i had lost respect for you. I was thinking that you were so concerned with your presidental run rather then your people, I thought you did not want to lose your white voters by making a commet or standing up for the Jena 6 . I also said i was not going to vote for you. Well maybe you just changed my mind here.
Thank you Senator Barack Obama .
And to the Jena 6 Kids, because thats what they are.. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, GODS GOT IT.
